How to cast off with a picot edge

In this DROPS video we show you have to cast off with a picot edge. In the video we knit like this: K 1, (* insert right needle in between the first 2 sts on left needle (i.e. between sts on needle, not through sts), make 1 YO on right needle, pull YO forwards between sts and slip YO on left needle *, repeat from *-* 2 more times (= 3 new sts on left needle). ** K first st on left needle, pass first st on right needle over last st worked **), repeat from **-** 5 times in total and repeat from (-) along the entire row until 1 st remains. Cut the yarn and pull it through last st. You must read the pattern and look at the chats to be able to follow. You’ll find patterns using this tecnique by clicking on the pictures below.

How to cast off with a picot edge on a rib

In this DROPS video we show how to cast off with a picot on a rib. Knit 1, * insert right needle between the next 2 stitches (not through the stitches), make 1 yarn over, pull the yarn over between the stitches and place on left needle *, work from *-* 2 more times (= 3 yarn overs on left needle), knit and cast off 7 stitches (= 1 stitch + 3 yarn overs + 3 stitches). Work from *-* and cast off 7 stitches in the same way along the whole edge. When there are not enough stitches to work another picot, cast off the remaining stitches as usual. How to cast off with picot

In this DROPS video we show to increase and at the same time cast off to a picot. We have already worked a rib ((knit 1 twisted/purl 1) and start the video with casting off like this: Knit 1 twisted, * insert right needle between the first 2 stitches on left needle, make 1 yarn over on right needle, pull yarn over forward between the stitches and slip yarn over on to left needle *, work from *-* 2 times in total, knit and cast off at the same time off 5 stitches (= 1st stitch on right needle + 2 yarn overs+ 2 stitches). Continue to work from *-* and cast off 5 stitches the same way along the entire cast-off edge until there are no stitches left to make a new picot. Cast off the remaining stitches.
