EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN:

----------------------------------------------------------

GARTER STITCH (back and forth):
1 ridge = knit 2 rows.

PATTERN:
See diagram A.1.

SEED STITCH (double vertically):
ROUND 1: * Knit 1, purl 1 *, repeat from *-*.
ROUND 2: Knit over knit and purl over purl.
ROUND 3: Purl over knit and knit over purl.
ROUND 4: Repeat 2nd round.
Repeat rounds 1 to 4.

RAGLAN:
Increase 1 stitch on each side of every A.1 (= 8 stitches increased on round):
Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over. On next round work yarn over twisted to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in seed stitch (double vertically).

INCREASE TIP (evenly):
To calculate how to increase evenly, use the total number of stitches on row (e.g. 74 stitches) minus bands and divide stitches by number of increases to be done (e.g. 5) = 14.8.
In this example increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over after approx. every 15th stitch. On next round work yarn over twisted to avoid hole.

DECREASE TIP (applies to sleeves):
Decrease 1 stitch on each side of stitch with marker as follows: Work until 4 stitches remain before marker and knit 2 together, work 4 stitches in seed stitch (= marker is between these stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked.

----------------------------------------------------------

START THE PIECE HERE:

----------------------------------------------------------

SWEATER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Worked in the round on circular needle, top down. Work sleeves in the round on a short circular needle/double pointed needles. The entire piece is knitted in 3 strands Kid-Silk.

NECK EDGE:
Cast on 68-72-76-76-80-88 stitches on a short circular needle size 5 mm / US 8 with 1 strand Kid-Silk of each color (= 3 strands). Knit 1 round. Now work rib (= knit 2/purl 2) for 4 cm / 1½''. Knit 1 round while increasing 6 stitches evenly - read INCREASE TIP (evenly) = 74-78-82-82-86-94 stitches. Purl 1 round. Switch to circular needle size 6 mm / US 10.

YOKE:
Now work pattern as follows: 8-9-10-10-11-13 stitches in SEED STITCH (double vertically) – read explanation above, (= half back piece), make 1 yarn over, A.1 (= 6 stitches), make 1 yarn over, 8 stitches in seed stitch (= sleeve), make 1 yarn over, A.1, make 1 yarn over, 17-19-21-21-23-27 stitches in seed stitch (= front piece), make 1 yarn over, A.1, make 1 yarn over, 8 stitches in seed stitch (= sleeve), make 1 yarn over, A.1, make 1 yarn over, 9-10-11-11-12-14 stitches in seed stitch (= half back piece). REMEMBER THE GAUGE! First increase for RAGLAN - read explanation above, is now done = 82-86-90-90-94-102 stitches. Continue like this and increase every other round 22-23-25-27-29-31 times in total = 250-262-282-298-318-342 stitches. Continue until piece measures 27-29-31-33-34-36 cm / 10 5/8"-11 3/8"-12 1/8"-13"-13 3/8"-14 1/8" from cast-on edge and down mid back.

Work next round as follows: Work as before over the first 33-35-38-40-43-47 stitches (= half back piece), cast on 5-5-7-7-9-9 new stitches on row (= in the side under sleeves), and slip the next 58-60-64-68-72-76 stitches on a stitch holder (= sleeve), work the next 67-71-77-81-87-95 stitches (= front piece), cast on 5-5-7-7-9-9 new stitch on row (= in the side under sleeves), slip the next 58-60-64-68-72-76 stitches on a stitch holder (= sleeve), work the remaining 34-36-39-41-44-48 stitches (= half back piece). NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE!

BODY:
= 144-152-168-176-192-208 stitches. Continue in the round with seed stitch (double vertically) as before until piece measures 36-36-36-36-37-37cm / 14 1/8"-14 1/8"-14 1/8"-14 1/8"-14 ½"-14 ½". Bind off stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl. Make a yarn over after approx. every 4th stitch while binding off (bind off yarn over as stitch) to make the bind-off edge more elastic. Piece measures approx. 68-70-72-74-76-78 cm / 26¾''-27½''-28 3/8''-29 1/8''-30''-30¾'' from shoulder and down.

SLEEVES:
Slip the 58-60-64-68-72-76 stitches from stitch holder in one side of piece on a short circular needle/double pointed needles size 6 mm / US 10 and pick in addition up 1 new stitch in each of the 5-5-7-7-9-9 new stitches cast on in the side under sleeve = 63-65-71-75-81-85 stitches. Insert a marker in the middle of the 5-5-7-7-9-9 new stitches in the side under sleeves. Continue in seed stitch in the round. When piece measures 2 cm / 3/4'', decrease 2 stitches mid under sleeve - read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 3rd-3rd-2nd-2nd-2nd-1st round 4-9-4-11-24-1 times and every 4th-4th-3rd-3rd-3rd-2nd round 14-9-17-11-1-25 times = 27-29-29-31-31-33 stitches. Continue with seed stitch until piece measures 35-33-32-30-29-28 cm / 13 ¾"-13"-12 ½"-11 ¾"-11 3/8"-11" (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of wider neck and longer yoke). Knit 1 round while increasing 5-7-7-9-9-11 stitches evenly = 32-36-36-40-40-44 stitches. Switch to double pointed needles size 5 mm / US 8 and work rib = knit 2/purl 2 for 4 cm / 1½''. Bind off stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl. Make sure that the bind-off edge is not too tight. Sleeve measures approx. 39-37-36-34-33-32 cm / 15 ¼"-14 ½"-14 1/8"-13 3/8"-13"-12 ½". Work the other sleeve the same way.

Comment me repérer?

Bon tricot!

Tina 16.03.2019 - 20:46:

What does it mean when it states increase on every A1 is that right side and wrong side? Increase 1 stitch on each side of every A.1 (= 8 stitches increased on round)

DROPS Design 18.03.2019 kl. 12:29:

Dear Tina, you are working A.1 a total of 4 times in the round (= A.1 = raglan line) - you will have to increase on each side of each A.1, ie work to A.1, increase 1 stitch before A.1, work A.1, and increase 1 stitch. Repeat this at each A.1 = you will increase a total of 8 sts on the round. Happy knitting!

Marlene Hoynck 29.01.2019 - 12:41:

1 bol Kid Silk is 25 gram.

Lone 27.01.2019 - 09:55:

DROPS Design 12.12.2018 kl. 07:53:

Hei Nilla. Så bra at du fant ut av det. God fornøyelse videre

Nilla Persson 11.12.2018 - 21:51:

Hej!

DROPS Design 08.11.2018 kl. 10:13:

Hej Wenche, du fortsætter mønsteret til arbejdet måler 29 cm. God fornøjelse!
