Kedves DROPS !

Hi Marypat, You bind off 1 stitch at just the beginning of the next 2 rows (2 stitches in total). Happy crafting!

I am a 16-year-old knitter, and this was my first sweater. I love this pattern! I used Lion's Brand Heartland tweed, the gauge was a bit small, so I went up a size. It fits perfectly! I cannot wait until fall so I can show it off. Thank you for the great pattern!

DROPS 202-25 |
|
---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge vertically = knit 2 rows. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- SWEATER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work front and back piece back and forth on circular needle. Work sleeves in the round on double pointed needles, switch to short circular needle when needed. FRONT PIECE: Cast on 78-86-90-98-106-114 stitches on needles size 5 mm = US 8 with Big Delight. Knit 1 row. Then work rib as follows: 2 stitches in GARTER STITCH - see explanation above - * knit 2 and purl 2 *, repeat from *-* until 4 stitches remain. Knit 2 and work 2 stitches in garter stitch. Continue rib like this until piece measures 7 cm = 2¾". Switch to needle size 6 mm = US 10 and work 1 row in stockinette stitch while decreasing 10-12-10-10-10-8 stitches evenly = 68-74-80-88-96-106 stitches. Then work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 31-32-33-35-36-37 cm = 12¼"-12½"-13"-13¾"-14¼"-14½", bind off 1 stitch at the beginning of the next 2 rows (sleeves are sewn in here). Continue in stockinette stitch until piece measures 43-45-47-49-51-53 cm = 17"-17¾"-18½"-19¼"-20"-21". Knit 1 row from right side and increase 10-12-10-10-10-8 stitches evenly (increase with yarn overs) = 76-84-88-96-104-112 stitches. Purl 1 row from wrong side, purl yarn overs from previous row twisted to avoid holes. Change to needles size 5 mm = US 8 and work rib as before but only 1 stitch in garter stitch in each side until rib measures 7 cm = 2¾" in all sizes. Piece measures 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm = 19¾"-20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝" in total. Bind off by knitting. BACK PIECE: Work as on front piece. SLEEVE: Cast on 28-32-32-36-36-40 stitches on double pointed needles size 5 mm = US 8. Work rib in the round with knit 2 and purl 2 until piece measures 5 cm = 2". Switch to double pointed needles size 6 mm = US 10. Insert 1 marker thread at beginning of round (= mid under sleeve). Continue in stockinette stitch. When sleeve measures 7 cm = 2¾" in all sizes, increase 1 stitch on each side of marker, increase by making 1 yarn over. On next round knit yarn over twisted to avoid holes. Repeat increase every 2½-2½-2½-2½-2½-2 cm = 1"-1"-1"-1"-1"-¾" 15-14-16-14-15-15 times in total = 58-60-64-64-66-70 stitches. Continue until piece measures 51-50-49-47-45-43 cm = 20"-19¾"-19¼"-18½"-17¾"-17" (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of wider shoulders). Bind off by knitting. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seam, leave approx. 26-27-28-29-30-31 cm = 10¼"-10⅝"-11"-11⅜"-11¾"-12¼" in the middle for neck. Sew in sleeves, start where 1 stitch was bind off in each side on front and back piece and sew inside 1 stitch. Sew side seams inside stitch in each side. |
