Hei.

DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLE AND CIRCULAR NEEDLE (40 cm / 16") size 8 mm / US 11 – or the size needed to get 11 stitches and 15 rows stockinette stitch on 10 cm / 4" in width and 10 cm / 4" in height. ---------------------------------------------------------- INFORMATION FOR THE PATTERN: SEED STITCH: ROW/ROUND 1: * Knit 1, purl 1 *, repeat from *-*. ROW/ROUND 2: Knit over purl and purl over knit. Repeat row/round 2. DECREASE TIP (for hat): To work out how to decrease evenly, count the total number of stitches on needle (e.g. 52 stitches) and divide by the number of decreases to be made (e.g. 4) = 13. In this example, work every 12th and 13th stitch together. ---------------------------------------------------------- SCARF: The piece is worked back and forth in SEED STITCH - see description above. Cast on 27 stitches with needle size 9 mm / US 13 and light gray. Work stripes as follows: STRIPE-1: Work 18 cm / 7" with light gray. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! STRIPE-2: Work 18 cm / 7" with dark gray. STRIPE-3: Work 18 cm / 7" with medium gray. STRIPE-4: Work 18 cm / 7" with amethyst. Repeat these 4 stripes 2 more times. Bind off. Piece measures approx. 216 cm / 85". FRINGE: 1 tassel: Cut 2 strands of each color and of 60 cm / 23½" in length. Fold them double, thread the loop through a stitch in the cast-on edge. Then pull the strand ends through the loop and tighten carefully. Fasten 7 tassels along the cast-on edge and 7 tassels along the bind-off edge. Cut the tassels to approx. 25 cm / 9¾" long. ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT: The piece is worked in the round with circular needle, change to double pointed needles when necessary. Loosely cast on 52-58 stitches with circular needle size 8 mm / US 11 and medium gray. Knit 1 round. Work SEED STITCH - see description above, for 5-6 cm / 2"-2⅜". REMEMBER THE GAUGE! Then work 5-6 cm / 2"-2⅜" stockinette stitch and 5-6 cm / 2"-2⅜" seed stitch. Continue with stockinette stitch. When piece measures 18-21 cm / 7"-8¼" decrease 4-2 stitches evenly on next round - read DECREASE TIP above = 48-56 stitches. Now insert 8 markers in the piece with 6-7 stitches between each. On the next round, start to decrease. Decrease 1 stitch before each marker by knitting together the 2 stitches before the marker. Decrease in this way every 2nd round a total of 4-5 times = 16-16 stitches. On the next round knit all stitches together, 2 and 2 = 8-8 stitches. Cut the strand and pull it through the remaining stitches and fasten well. Hat measures approx. 25-28 cm / 9¾"-11". POM POM: Make a pom pom with medium gray and a left-over of light gray, dark gray and amethyst of approx.10-10 cm / 4" in diameter and fasten the pom pom to the top of the hat. |
