Hei Annette.

Hej SivLouise När du stickar 1:a varvet i A.2 ökar du till 64 m (64/16=4) enligt beskrivningen. Lycka till!

Hello, after completing A1 what is the point of, increasing by 4 stitches at the same time as knitting two together as following the first line of A2? Surely the number of stitches doesn't change, and it is easier just to do a row of plain dark mustard stocking stitch? Also now I looking at it, I don't think the photo matches the pattern! Sarah

Dear Sarah, start reading diagrams from bottom corner on the right side (towards the left every round) read more about diagrams here - After A.1 (over 12 sts), inc evenly 4 sts on first round in A.2 to get each A.2 with 16 sts. On next to last round in A.2 K2 tog at the end of each repetition and in the last round in A.2 k2 tog at the beg of each repetition. Happy knitting!

PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. HEEL DECREASE: Row 1 (= RS): Work until 7-7-8-8 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K 1, psso, turn piece. Row 2 (= WS): Work until 7-7-8-8 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece. Row 3 (= RS): Work until 6-6-7-7 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K 1, psso, turn piece. Row 4 (= WS): Work until 6-6-7-7 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece. Continue dec like this with 1 st less before every dec until there are 12-14-14-14 sts on needle. ---------------------------------------------------------- SOCK: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 64-64-68-68 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm / US 1.5 with medium gray. K 2 rounds with medium gray, switch to off white. Work rib = K 2/P 2 for 4 cm / 1½". Switch to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm / US 4 and work 1 round in stockinette st while at the same time dec 4-4-8-8 sts evenly = 60-60-60-60 sts. Continue with A.1. When A.1 has been worked one time vertically, continue with A.2, AT THE SAME TIME on first row in A.2 inc 4-4-4-4 sts evenly = 64-64-64-64 sts. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When A.2 has been worked vertically, 56-56-56-56 sts remain on round. Continue with A.3 AT THE SAME TIME on 1st round in A.3, dec 8-4-0-0 sts evenly = 48-52-56-56 sts. When A.3 has been worked, piece measures approx. 22 cm / 8¾". Then work sock with dark mustard. Continue to work until piece measures 23-24-25-26 cm / 9"-9½"-9¾"-10¼". On next round, keep the first 12-13-14-14 sts on needle for heel, slip the next 24-26-28-28 sts on 1 stitch holder (= mid on top of foot) and keep the last 12-13-14-14 sts on needle for heel. Continue in stockinette st back and forth over the 24-26-28-28 heel sts for 5-5½-6-6½ cm / 2"-2¼"-2⅜"-2⅝". Insert 1 marker in middle of piece. Then work HEEL DECREASE - see explanation above. After heel dec, pick up 11-12-13-14 sts on each side of heel and slip the 24-26-28-28 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 58-64-68-70 sts. Insert 1 marker on each side of the 24-26-28-28 sts on top of foot. Continue in stockinette st in the round while AT THE SAME TIME dec in each side as follows: K tog the last 2 sts BEFORE first marker mid on top of foot twisted (i.e. work in the back loop of st instead of front) and K tog the first 2 sts AFTER last marker on top of foot. Repeat dec every other round a total of 7-8-8-7 times = 44-48-52-56 sts. Continue until piece measures 18-20-22-25 cm / 7"-8"-8¾"-9¾" from marker on heel (= approx. 4-4-5-5 cm / 1½"-1½"-2"-2" remain). Insert 1 marker in each side so that there are 22-24-26-28 sts on top of foot and 22-24-26-28 sts under foot. Continue in stockinette st with medium gray: AT THE SAME TIME dec for toe on each side of both markers as follows: BEFORE marker: K 2 tog. AFTER marker: K 2 twisted tog (i.e. work in back loop of st instead of front). Repeat dec every other round 3-3-4-4 more times and then every round 5-6-6-7 times = 8 sts remain on needle. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. |
