GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K. INCREASE TIP: Inc 1 st by making 1 YO inside 1 edge st, on next row work YO twisted (i.e. work in back loop of st instead front) to avoid holes. BUTTONHOLE: Dec for buttonholes on right band. 1 buttonhole = K tog second and third st from edge and make 1 YO. NOTE: Dec for last buttonhole when 2 rows remain on band before neck. Dec for buttonholes when piece measures: SIZE S: 2, 11, 19, 28, 36 and 45 cm / 3/4",4½",7½",11",14¼" and 17¾". SIZE M: 2, 11, 20, 29, 38 and 47 cm / 3/4",4½",8",11½",15" and 18½". SIZE L: 2, 12, 21, 30, 39 and 48 cm / 3/4",4¾",8¼",11¾",15¼" and 19". SIZE XL: 2, 12, 21, 31, 40 and 50 cm / 3/4",4¾",8¼",12¼",15¾" and 19¾". SIZE XXL: 2, 12, 22, 32, 42 and 51 cm / 3/4",4¾",8¾",12½",16½" and 20". SIZE XXXL: 2, 13, 23, 33, 43 and 53 cm / 3/4",5",9",13",17" and 21". ---------------------------------------------------------- BACK PIECE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. When piece measures 39-40-41-42-43-44 cm / 15¼"-15¾"-16⅛"-16½"-17"-17¼", bind off 1 st to mark the armholes at beg of the next 2 rows = 78-84-92-100-108-118 sts. When piece measures 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm / 20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜", bind off the middle 22-22-22-24-24-24 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Continue to bind off 2 sts on next row from neck = 26-29-33-36-40-45 sts remain on the shoulder. Switch to circular needle size 4.5 mm / US 7 when piece measures 53-55-57-59-61-63 cm / 21"-21⅝"-22½"-23¼"-24"-24¾", and work 1 ridge. Bind off, piece measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm / 21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼". LEFT FRONT PIECE: Cast on 36-39-43-47-52-57 sts (includes 1 edge st in the side and 4 band sts towards mid front) on circular needle size 4.5 mm / US 7 with 1 strand BabyAlpaca Silk + 1 strand Kid-Silk. Work 2 ridges. Switch to circular needle size 5.5 mm / US 9 and work in stockinette st but work 1 edge st in the side and 4 band sts towards mid front in garter st until finished measurements. Inc 1 st in the side when piece measures 4-4-5-5-6-6 cm / 1½"-1½"-2"-2"-2⅜"-2⅜". Repeat inc every 4½-4½-4½-4½-5½-5½ cm / 1¾"-1¾"-1¾"-1¾"-2¼"-2¼" 7-7-7-7-6-6 more times = 44-47-51-55-59-64 sts. When piece measures 39-40-41-42-43-44 cm / 15¼"-15¾"-16⅛"-16½"-17"-17¼", bind off 1 st to mark the armhole at beg of next row from RS. When piece measures 46-48-49-51-52-54 cm / 18"-19"-19¼"-20"-20½"-21¼", slip 9-9-9-10-10-10 sts on 1 stitch holder for neck (slip them on the stitch holder at the end of RS row without working them first). Then bind off at beg of every row from neck (= WS): 2 sts 2 times, 1 st 4 times = 26-29-33-36-40-45 sts remain on shoulder. Switch to circular needle size 4.5 mm / US 7 when piece measures 53-55-57-59-61-63 cm / 21"-21⅝"-22½"-23¼"-24"-24¾", and work 1 ridge. Bind off, piece measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm / 21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼". RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Work as left front piece but reversed. In addition dec for BUTTONHOLES on band - see explanation above. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 38-40-42-44-44-46 sts (incl 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 4.5 mm / US 7 with 1 strand BabyAlpaca Silk and 1 strand Kid-Silk. Work 2 ridges. Switch to circular needle size 5.5 mm / US 9 and continue in stockinette st with 1 edge st in garter st in each side. When piece measures 8-8-7-7-7-7 cm / 3"-3"-2¾"-2¾"-2¾"-2¾", inc 1 st in each side. Repeat inc every 7½-6-6-5-4-3½ cm / 2⅞"-2⅜"-2⅜"-2"-1½"-1¼" 5-6-6-7-8-9 more times = 50-54-56-60-62-66 sts. When piece measures 48-47-46-44-43-41 cm / 19"-18½"-18"-17¼"-17"-16⅛" (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of wider shoulders), switch to circular needle size 4.5 mm / US 7 and work 1 ridge. Bind off, piece measures approx. 49-48-47-45-44-42 cm / 19¼"-19"-18½"-17¾"-17¼"-16½". POCKET FLAP: Cast on 18-18-18-20-20-20 sts on needle size 4.5 mm / US 7 with 1 strand BabyAlpaca Silk and 1 strand Kid-Silk. Work in garter st until piece measures 5-5-6-6-7-7 cm / 2"-2"-2½"-2½"-2¾"-2¾", bind off. Knit another pocket flap. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. NECK EDGE: Pick up approx. 75 to 80 sts around the neck including sts on stitch holders at the front with circular needle size 4.5 mm / US 7. K 4 rows and bind off with K from WS. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams in one inside 1 edge st. Place pocket flaps on front piece approx. 9-10-11-12-13-14 cm / 3½"-4"-4⅜"-4¾"-5⅛"-5½" from bottom edge and 8-9-10-11-12-13 cm / 3⅛"-3½"-4"-4⅜"-4¾"-5⅛" from mid front (try the jacket on and place where wanted), sew pocket flaps in upper edge with sts. Sew on buttons. |
