PATTERN: See diagrams M.1 to M.5 (the diagrams show the pattern from RS). 1 square = 14-14-16-16-18-18 sts and 20-20-22-22-24-24 rows. INCREASE TIP: Inc 1 st by making 1 YO. On next row K YO twisted (i.e. work in the back loop of st instead of front) to avoid holes. Work the inc sts in the pattern. -------------------------------------------------------- BODY: Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 152-164-176-192-212-232 sts on circular needle size 5 mm / US 8 with Nepal. Work 1st round as follows (round beg in the side): Work 3-6-4-8-8-13 sts in diagram M.4, * work 14-14-16-16-18-18 sts in every diagram: M.1, M.2, M.3, M.4 and M.5 *, 6-12-8-16-16-26 sts in diagram M.4 - See chart, repeat from *-* 1 more time, finish with 3-6-4-8-8-13 sts in diagram M.4 (= 6-12-8-16-16-26 sts in diagram M.4 in the side until armholes beg). REMEMBER THE GAUGE! Continue like this until 20-20-22-22-24-24 rounds have been worked (= approx. 9-9-10-10-11-11 cm / 3½"-3½"-4"-4"-4 3/8"-4 3/8" vertically). Then work as follows: Work 3-6-4-8-8-13 sts in diagram M.4, * work 14-14-16-16-18-18 sts in diagrams M.2, M.3, M.4, M.5 and M.1 *, 6-12-8-16-16-26 sts in diagram M.4, repeat from *-* 1 more time, finish with 3-6-4-8-8-13 sts in diagram M.4. Continue so that after 20-20-22-22-24-24 rounds (= 1 square vertically) have been worked, the squares between diagram M.4 in each side are shifted one square to the right - See chart. When piece measures 32-33-34-35-37-39 cm / 12½"-13"-13 3/8"-13 3/4"-14½"-15 1/4", insert 2 markers in piece as follows: Insert a marker in the middle of sts in diagram M.4 in each side = 3-6-4-8-8-13 sts in diagram M.4 on each side of both markers. Now divide the piece at the markers and finish each part separately. BACK PIECE: = 76-82-88-96-106-116 sts. Continue to work back and forth on needle (1st row = RS): Now bind off for armholes in beg of very row each side as follows: 3 sts 1-1-1-1-2-2 times, 2 sts 2-2-2-3-3-4 times and 1 st 2-4-5-5-5-6 times = 58-60-64-68-72-76 sts. When a total of 4 squares have been worked vertically, work next square as follows: Work diagrams M.4, M.1, M.2, M.3, and finish with diagram M.4. Continue until a total of 5 squares have been worked vertically (piece measures approx. 45-45-50-50-55-55 cm / 17 3/4"-17 3/4"-19 3/4"-19 3/4"-21 5/8"-21 5/8"). Then work diagram M.4 over all sts until finished measurements. When piece measures 48-50-52-54-57-60 cm / 19"-19 3/4"-20½"-21 1/4"-22½"-23 5/8", bind off the middle 24-24-26-26-28-28 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately = 17-18-19-21-22-24 sts on each shoulder. Loosely bind off all sts when piece measures 50-52-54-56-59-62 cm / 19 3/4"-20½"-21 1/4"-22"-23 1/4"-24 3/8". FRONT PIECE: = 76-82-88-96-106-116 sts. Work as on back piece. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on circular needle size 5 mm / US 8. Cast on 36-38-40-42-44-46 sts (includes 2 edge sts). Work diagram M.1 with 1 edge st in garter st in each side (1st row = RS). When piece measures 8 cm / 3 1/8'', inc 1 st - Read explanation above - inside 1 edge st in each side = 2 new sts. Repeat inc every 3-3-3-2½-2½-2cm/1"-1"-1"-7/8"-7/8"-3/4" a total of 13-13-13-14-15-16 times = 62-64-66-70-74-78 sts. When piece measures 46-46-45-45-44-44 cm / 18"-18"-17 3/4"-17 3/4"-17 1/4"-17 1/4" (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap), bind off for sleeve cap in beg of every row each side as follows: 3 sts 1-1-1-1-1-2 times, 2 sts 3-3-4-4-4-4 times, and 1 st in each side until piece measures 55 cm / 21½" in all sizes. Now bind off in in beg of every row each side as follows: 2 sts 2 times and 3 sts 1 time. Loosely bind off all sts on next row from RS (piece measures approx. 58 cm / 22 3/4'' in all sizes). ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams tog. Sew sleeves tog inside 1 edge st and sew in sleeves. |
