How to work cables across 2 stitches without using a cable needle
BEFORE STARTING THE VIDEO:
The pattern shows: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, purl 3, 1 cable which twists to the right, purl 4, 1 cable which twists to the left, purl 3, finish with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch.
We have already worked a few cms of pattern.
THE VIDEO SHOWS:
Cables which twist to the right and left with purled stitches between the cables.
The cable which twists to the right: Knit the 2nd stitch on the left needle, with the 1st stitch on the left needle remaining on the needle, then knit the 1st stitch on the left needle. Slip both stitches from the left needle.
The cable which twists to the left: Knit through the back stitch-loop of the 2nd stitch on the left needle, with the 1st stitch on the left needle remaining on the needle, then knit the 1st stitch on the left needle. Slip both stitches from the left needle.

31.08.2018 - 16:39I love your videos and patterns. I knit the Eastern European way which in comparison with continental I would be called a piker ? ? Can you teach that method please? Some of the patterns I can't translate then to my method. However having a small video would help tremendously. Thank you.

Dear Maria, You can find videos for different ways of knittingalthough if you knit either way it will not be the same way. The trick to knit this cable is to knit the2nd stitch before the 1st stitch on your left needle. Happy Knitting!
