Grazie mille

I am still a little confused about Purl 1 row from the wrong side while working on the round. Should I Purl the row on the right side or knit it? Thank you again
18.06.2022 - 05:02DROPS Design answered:
Dear Myrna, I am not sure exactly which part you're talking about. But the neck is worked back and forth, only then joined in the round and continued knitting in the round. Happy knitting!

Blue Peacock jumper —. Neck: when do I join into the round? I did the 3/4” p1, ‘k1 back and forth. Now do I join here and knit 1 round in a circle, then turn to Purl from wrong side? Or do I Knit 1 row, then Purl 1 row on wrong side then join into a circle? Thank you
16.06.2022 - 22:26DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Laupland, you first work 2 cm in rib then bind off 1 stitch at the beginning of next 2 rows (working as before) and then join to continue in the round. Happy knitting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge in height = Knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.5. RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch on both sides of 2 stitches in each transition between the body and sleeves (= 8 stitches increased on each increase-round). Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over. On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stockinette stitch. DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on either side of the marker thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- SWEATER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The neck is worked back and forth on needle, then join piece together and work yoke in the round with circular needle, top down. The yoke is divided for body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round with circular needle. The sleeves are worked in the round with double pointed needles/short circular needle. NECK: Cast on 80-86-86-92-98-104 stitches with circular needle size 4 MM = US 6 and DROPS Air. Knit 1 row from the wrong side. Work 6 rows of stockinette stitch with 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH – read description above on each side. Now work a rolled-edge on the next row from the right side as follows: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, knit 3, *twist the stitches on the right needle 360 degrees as follows: place the yarn in front of piece, insert the right needle down under the piece and up in front, then knit 6*, work from *-* until there are 4 stitches left, knit 3, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. The next row is worked as follows - from the wrong side: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch; *purl 1, knit 1 *, work from *-* until there are 1 stitch left, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue this rib for 2 cm = ¾". Bind off 1 stitch in each side = 78-84-84-90-96-102 stitches. Continue in the round over all stitches. Knit 1 round where you adjust the number of stitches to 80-84-88-92-96-100 stitches. Insert 1 marker at the beginning of the round; the yoke is measured from this marker. YOKE: Change to circular needle size 5 MM = US 8 and work A.1 20-21-22-23-24-25 times on the round. After the first round in A.1 there are 100-105-110-115-120-125 stitches. When A.1 has been completed in height, repeat the 2 rounds marked with a star. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE! When the piece measures 6 cm = 2⅜" from the marker on the neck, work A.2 20-21-22-23-24-25 times on the round. When A.2 has been completed in height there are180-189-198-207-216-225 stitches. Continue with A.3 over all stitches until the piece measures 10-10-11-11-12-12 cm = 4"-4"-4⅜"-4⅜"-4¾"-4¾". Now work A.4 20-21-22-23-24-25 times on the round. When A.4 has been completed in height work A.5 20-21-22-23-24-25 times on the round. Insert 4 markers without working the stitches and inserting them between 2 stitches: Count 28-30-32-33-36-38 stitches (half back piece), insert 1 marker, count 34-34-36-38-36-36 stitches (sleeve), insert 1 marker, count 56-61-62-65-72-77 stitches (front piece) insert 1 marker, count 34-34-36-38-36-36 stitches (sleeve), insert 1 marker; there are 28-30-32-33-36-38 stitches left after the last marker (half back piece). Continue with stockinette stitch, AT THE SAME TIME increase to RAGLAN – read description above. Increase every 2nd round a total of 7-9-10-13-14-15 times = 236-261-278-311-328-345 stitches. Continue with stockinette stitch until the piece measures 21-23-24-26-28-30 cm = 8¼"-9"-9½"-10¼"-11"-11¾" from the marker on the neck. Now divide for the body and sleeves as follows: Work 35-39-42-46-50-53 stitches (half back piece), place the next 48-52-56-64-64-66 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-12 stitches (= in side under sleeve), work 70-79-82-91-100-107 stitches (front piece), place the next 48-52-56-64-64-66 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-12 stitches (= in side under sleeve), work the remaining 35-39-42-46-50-53 stitches (half back piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE! BODY: = 152-169-182-199-220-237 stitches. Continue with stockinette stitch for a further 21-21-22-22-22-22 cm = 8¼"-8¼"-8¾"-8¾"-8¾"-8¾". There is approx. 6 cm = 2⅜" left. Knit 1 round where you increase 16-17-18-21-22-25 stitches evenly spaced = 168-186-200-220-242-262 stitches. Change to circular needle size 4 MM = US 6 and work rib (knit 1, purl 1) for 6 cm = 2⅜". Bind off. The sweater measures approx. 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm = 20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜" from the shoulder down. SLEEVES: Place the 48-52-56-64-64-66 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on double pointed needles/short circular needle size 5 MM = US 8 and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-8-8-10-12 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 54-58-64-72-74-78 stitches. Insert a marker thread in the middle of the new stitches under the sleeve. Allow the thread to follow your work onwards; it will be used when decreasing under the sleeve. Start at the marker thread and work stockinette stitch in the round for 3 cm = 1⅛". Now decrease 2 stitches under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 8-5-3-2½-2-2 cm = 3⅛"-2"-1⅛"-1"-¾"-¾" a total of 4-5-7-10-10-11 times = 46-48-50-52-54-56 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 35-34-33-32-30-28 cm = 13¾"-13⅜"-13"-12½"-11¾"-11" from the division. Knit 1 round where you increase 6-4-6-4-6-4 stitches evenly spaced = 52-52-56-56-60-60 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 4 MM = US 6 and work rib (knit 1, purl 1) for 6 cm = 2⅜". Bind off. The sleeve measures approx. 41-40-39-38-36-34 cm = 16⅛"-15¾"-15¼"-15"-14¼"-13⅜" from the division. Work the other sleeve in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew together neck edge inside the edge stitches. |
