I don't understand how many skeins this takes. For the Materials it says Drops Air 100-100-150- and so on. That can't be 100 skeins. Or, 100 yards. Please help. Thank you.

Dear Mrs Ellis, the amount of yarn is given in "grams" (g), so that if you need 100 g DROPS Air / 50 g a ball, you need 2 balls DROPS Air in this size (or -then 3 balls if you need 150 g). Happy knitting!

Nerozumiem uberaniu (uzatváraniu) ociek pri napr. zadnom dieli - "v každej rade 2x2 očká a 2x1 očko". Preto neviem, ako vznikne 36 ociek, keď som pôvodne mala 48. Nerozumiem, kedy uzavrieť 2 očká a kedy jedno 😭

I’ve substituted yarn Air for Alpaca Mix but when I did a tension sample (17 by 22 ) it only measures 7 cm wide, not 10. How do I compensate for this?
30.10.2023 - 11:53DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Maides, you should then work with 2 strands DROPS Alpaca - adjust needle size to get the correct tension. Please read more here about tension. Happy knitting!

Hei!

Was soll ich tun?
23.11.2021 - 16:19DROPS Design answered:
Liebe Frau Thielen, die Maschenprobe sollte mit A.1 gestrickt werden und A.1 stricken Sie so: abwechslungsweise: 2 Reihen (3 Maschen glatt rechts, 3 Maschen glatt links) und 2 Reihen (3 Maschen glatt links, 3 Maschen glatt rechts). Siehe dieses Video. Viel Spaß beim stricken!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. The diagram shows all rows in the pattern from the right side. BINDING-OFF TIP: To avoid the bind-off edge being tight you can bind off with a larger size needle. If the edge is still tight, make 1 yarn over after approx. each 4th stitch at the same time as binding off; the yarn overs are bind off as normal stitches. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- VEST – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round with circular needle, bottom up as far as the armholes. Then the back and front pieces are finished separately, back and forth with circular needle. Ribbed edges are worked around the armholes and neck to finish. BODY: Cast on 108-108-120-132-132-144 stitches with circular needle size 4 MM = US 6 and DROPS Air. Knit 1 round, then work rib in the round (knit 1, purl 1) for 4 cm = 1½". Change to circular needle size 5 MM = US 8. Work A.1 over all stitches (= 18-18-20-22-22-24 repeats of 6 stitches). REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE! When the piece measures 16-18-21-24-27-30 cm = 6¼"-7"-8¼"-9½"-10⅝"-11¾", bind off for the armholes as follows: Bind off the first 3 stitches, work the next 48-48-54-60-60-66 stitches with pattern as before, bind off the next 6 stitches, work the next 48-48-54-60-60-66 stitches and bind off the last 3 stitches = 48-48-54-60-60-66 stitches on the back and front pieces. Each piece is finished separately. BACK PIECE: = 48-48-54-60-60-66 stitches. Start from the wrong side and continue A.1, binding off for the armholes at the beginning of each row as follows: 2 stitches 2 times and 1 stitch 2-2-4-6-6-7 times on each side = 36-36-38-40-40-44 stitches. Continue working until the piece measures 31-34-38-42-46-50 cm = 12¼"-13⅜"-15"-16½"-18"-19¾". On the next row bind off the middle 16-16-18-20-20-22 stitches for the neck and each shoulder is finished separately. Continue with A.1, binding off 1 stitch on the next row from the neck = 9-9-9-9-9-10 stitches on the shoulder. Continue working until the piece measures 33-36-40-44-48-52 cm = 13"-14¼"-15¾"-17¼"-19"-20½". Bind off. Work the other shoulder in the same way. FRONT PIECE: = 48-48-54-60-60-66 stitches. Start from the wrong side and continue A.1, binding off for the armholes at the beginning of each row as follows: 2 stitches 2 times and 1 stitch 2-2-4-6-6-7 times on each side = 36-36-38-40-40-44 stitches. Continue working until the piece measures 29-32-36-40-44-48 cm = 11⅜"-12½"-14¼"-15¾"-17¼"-19". On the next row place the middle 10-10-12-14-14-16 stitches on a thread for the neck and each shoulder is finished separately. Continue with A.1, binding off stitches on each row from the neck as follows: 2 stitches 1 time and 1 stitch 2 times = 9-9-9-9-9-10 stitches on the shoulder. Continue working until the piece measures 33-36-40-44-48-52 cm = 13"-14¼"-15¾"-17¼"-19"-20½". Bind off. Work the other shoulder in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams inside the bind-off edge. ARMHOLE-EDGES: Start from the right side at the bottom of the armhole and knit up 58 to 74 stitches inside 1 stitch around the armhole, using double pointed needles or small circular needle size 4 MM = US 6 and DROPS Air (the number of stitches should be divisible by 2). Work rib in the round (knit 1, purl 1) for 2½ cm= 1". Loosely bind off with knit over knit and purl over purl – read BINDING-OFF TIP! Work the other armhole-edge in the same way. NECK: Start from the right side by the shoulder seam and knit up 52 to 66 stitches (including the stitches on the thread) around the neck, using double pointed needles or small circular needle size 4 MM = US 6 and DROPS Air (the number of stitches should be divisible by 2). Work rib in the round (knit 1, purl 1) for 2½ cm = 1". Bind off with knit over knit and purl over purl – remember BINDING-OFF TIP! |
