Hei Christiane. Gjenta 2.-5. pinne. God Fornøyelse!

I am newer to knitting so I have a question about the pattern it looks like you repeat rows 2 through 5? But I am not seeing stripes. Am I missing something with knitting ridges in addition to rows 2-5?
28.09.2020 - 02:38DROPS Design answered:
Dear Erin, you are repeating row 2 to 5 and at the same time work the STRIPES (= 2 rows = 1 ridge with alternately one colour and the other colour = row 1+2 is worked with green/beige, row 3+4 with olive/rust/plum row 5 with green beige (= then row 2 with green beige etc...) Happy knitting!

Can you provide me with the measurements of all three sides when it is finished so I know what all three sides length are so it will wrap properly.
05.08.2020 - 16:47DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Bethene, sorry we do not have these measurements and not the shawl anymore, but should your tension match (= 21 sts x 41 rows in garter st = 10 x 10 cm), then the shawl should look like the one in the foto. Happy knitting!

Bethene wrote:
What are the measurements of the shawl supposed to be, meaning along the top and down both sides....( not down the middle which is quite confusing)
05.08.2020 - 13:49DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Bethene, the measurements are taken flat, length at the top is matching the measurement from one tip to the other at the top (= wingspan) and height is measured from the middle of the wingspan to the bottom tip of shawl. Happy knitting!

Thank you for your very prompt response. You have me as a knitter in the UK. I am actually living in Australia. It seems that there is no one nor a store selling Drops Design yarns etc. in Australia. It's too far, costly and not a possibility to travel to either the UK or America. So sad !!! Thank you.

Dear Margaret, there are some DROPS Stores shipping worldwide you can contact (E-mail or social medias) - see the list here. Happy knitting!

Thank you for this delightful pattern. Is it possible for a change in the colours of yarn. I'm finding it difficult and wondered if you could suggest colours that may suit me. I'm interested in blues and I have checked the yarns available, Blueberry Pie #20 and Grey print 01 appealed to me. Your help would be appreciated.

INFORMATION FOR PATTERN: GARTER STITCH (back and forth): 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. STRIPES: Work entire shawl in stripes. Work 1 ridge with green/beige and 1 ridge olive/rust/plum *, repeat from *-* the entire piece. Do not cut the yarn between every stripe. Let the strands move up along the side of piece but make sure that they are not too tight. ---------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL: Work piece back and forth on circular needle. The entire shawl is worked in GARTER STITCH - see explanation above. Cast on 3 stitches on circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 with green/beige and knit 1 row. Now continue to work with increases, decreases and STRIPES - see explanation above. Work as follows: ROW 1 (= right side): Knit 1, 1 yarn over, knit 1, 1 yarn over and knit 1 = 5 stitches. ROW 2 (= wrong side): Knit all stitches and yarn overs. Switch to olive/rust/plum. ROW 3 (= right side): Knit 2 together (loosely), knit until 1 stitch remains, 1 yarn over and knit 1. ROW 4 (= wrong side): Knit all stitches and yarn overs. Switch to green/beige. ROW 5 (= right side): Knit until 2 stitches remain, 1 yarn over, knit 1, 1 yarn over and knit 1. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! Then repeat ROWS 2 to 5 until there are approx. 221 stitches on needle or work to desired length (make sure to have enough yarn for bind-off). To make an elastic edge, bind off as follows: * bind off 2 stitches, make 1 yarn over and bind off yarn over as regular stitch *, repeat from *-* until all stitches have been bind off. Cut the yarns and weave in ends. |
