Buon lavoro!

I am going to take this pattern and knit st st instead of the bobble with some colored yarn. I have two daughters and doing the bobbles for 2 boleros might just drive me mad ;) I will tackle the pattern as is for myself, however. Great pattern!

I have completed the body of the shrug and am ready to begin the ribbing. It looks to me as though I should sew up the side seams before I do the ribbing, but the directions are written in such a way as to make me think the seams are done after the ribbing. Could you clarify for me? Thank you.
20.12.2012 - 19:07DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Brown, you are right, you work the edge around the shrug : sts on needle + sts picked up along cast on edge. Seams for sleeves are done afterwards (see dotted lines on charts). Happy knitting!

Danke!

I am about to start this pattern. what is the measurement for the two smallest sizes? the pattern does not say. Thanks so much.
14.05.2012 - 22:35DROPS Design answered:
We are publishing a measure chart with each design. There you see the actual garments finished measures. The measures in the chart is in cm and measured from side to side. So to figure out which size to make, the best is to measure a garment you already have and like the size of and then compare with the chart.

R. li stricken". Habe ich irgendwas falsch verstanden? Danke im Voraus.

Garter st, back and forth on needle: K all rows. Berry pattern: See diagram M.1. Note! First row in pattern is worked from the WS. Increasing tip: Inc 1 st by making 1 YO. On return row work YO into back of st to avoid a hole. ------------------------------------------------------------- BOLERO Work Berry pattern back and forth on circular needle, then pick up additional sts for rib and work rib in the round. Cast on 122-126-130-134-138-142 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on circular needle size 5 mm [US 8]. K 3 rows, at the same time dec 24 sts evenly on third row (K tog approx every 5th and 6th st) = 98-102-106-110-114-118 sts. Continue as follows: 3 garter st – see above – Berry pattern – see above - until 3 sts remain, 3 garter sts. Continue in Berry pattern like this with 3 garter sts each side. Remember the knitting gauge! When piece measures 8-9-10-11-12-13 cm [3⅛"-3½"-4"-4⅜"-4¾"-5⅛"] cast on 12 new sts each side for sleeves = 122-126-130-134-138-142 sts. Continue in pattern on all sts with 3 garter sts each side. Insert a Marking Thread (MT) when piece measures 26-28-30-32-34-36 cm [10¼"-11"-11¾"-12½"-13⅜"-14¼"]. Now mirror piece from here. When piece measures 44-47-50-53-56-59 cm [17¼"-18½"-19¾"-21"-22"-23¼"] bind off 12 sts each side = 98-102-106-110-114-118 sts. Continue in Berry pattern with 3 garter sts each side until piece measures 52-56-60-64-68-72 cm [20½"-22"-23⅝"-25¼"-26¾"-28⅜"] (adjust so that the last row is P from RS). K 3 rows, at the same time inc 24 sts evenly on first row = 122-126-130-134-138-142 sts. Change to circular needle size 4.5 mm [US 7]. Pick up 122-126-130-134-138-142 sts from cast on row = 244-252-260-268-276-284 m. Now continue in the round on all sts. P 1 round, inc 60-64-64-68-68-72 sts evenly (approx 1 st between every 4th and 5th st) - see Increasing tip = 304-316-324-336-344-356 sts. K 1 round and continue in rib, K2/P2 on all sts. When rib measures 3 cm [1⅛"] inc 1 st in each P-section (work 2 sts in first P st) = 380-395-405-420-430-445 sts. Now continue in rib, K2/P3 until rib measures 6 cm [2⅜"]. Now inc 1 st in each K-section (work 2 sts in last K st) = 456-474-486-504-516-534 sts. Continue in rib, K3/P3 until rib measures 9 cm [3½"]. Bind off in rib. Assembly: Sew side seams. Sew under arm seams – see broken line in measurement chart. |
