Merci d'avance
07.11.2016 - 22:48DROPS Design answered:

I followed this to the best of my abilities but it ended up quite high like a boot. Was there an error in how wide the clog was supposed to be? I knitted for the 9 1/2 inches like it said and continued on until it was 19inches with the proper decreases.
27.12.2013 - 03:55DROPS Design answered:
Dear Betty, you will find the measurement chart in cm at the end of the pattern. the first 9 1/2" are the middle of slipper. If your gauge is correct, these 9 1/2" should be 5.31 " after felting, ie total width after felting should be 7.48 " (see chart 2 x 25 cm before felting = 2 x 13.5 cm after felting). Happy knitting!

Genial oppskrift!

Ok, I think this is what I need to do: cast on 4 stitches, Question: work in stockinette? or begin increasing?, on rs row cast on required # of stitches, on rs row cast on required # of stitches. Question: Is this considered increasing every other row or is there a plain row in between the cast on increase? Cast on 4, knit 1 row, purl 1 row, cast on 2 sts knit to end of row, cast on 2 sts purl to end of row. cast on 2 sts, etc. or knit one row, purl one row?
18.01.2013 - 23:20DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mary, you work in st st : cast on 4 sts, and K1 row, inc 2 sts, P1 row, inc 2 sts, K1 row inc 2 sts etc.. right side = towards the heel, left side = towards the toe, seen from RS. Happy Knitting!

Felted slippers in DROPS Snow.
DROPS 104-4 |
||||||||||||||||
Pattern instructions SLIPPER: The slipper is worked in one with a seam mid front and mid back, beginning at the top of instep (see sketch – D) Cast on 4-4-5-4 stitches on needle size 8 mm / US 11 with dark gray Snow. Work in stockinette stitch. Increase in each side by casting on new stitches at the end of every row as follows: Right side seen from RS (towards heel): 2 stitches 3 times, 3 stitches 2 times, 5-6-7-8 stitches 1 time. Left side seen from RS (towards toe): 2 stitches 5-6-6-7 times, 1 stitch 3 times. After all increases are done there are 34-37-39-41 stitches on needle. Continue in stockinette stitch. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When piece measures 22-24-24-25 cm/8¾"-9½"-9½"-9¾", insert a marker in the piece = mid under foot. Now work the other side of slipper with bind offs instead of cast ons. Begin bind off when piece is the same length from marker as from last increase in each side and up to marker - NOTE! bind offs in right side begin when 2-3-3-4 bind offs have been done in the left side. Bind off at beg of every row as follows: Right side seen from RS (from heel): 5-6-7-8 stitches 1 time, 3 stitches 2 times, 2 stitches 3 times Left side seen from RS (from toe): 1 stitch 3 times, 2 stitches 5-6-6-7 times = 4-4-5-4 stitches remain. Bind off. ASSEMBLY: Fold the slipper mid under foot and sew seam mid on top of foot (including cast on and bind off edge). Pick up approximately 55 to 60 stitches on needle size 8 mm / US 11 around the opening at the top (it is important to pick up enough stitches to avoid a tight edge). Knit 2 rows. Bind off. Sew seam mid back (A + B) in outer loops of edge stsitch. Knit another slipper. FELTING: Place the slippers in the washing machine with a detergent without enzymes and optical bleach. Wash at 40 degrees/104F with normal spin but no pre-wash. Put on the slippers and shape it to the correct size while it is still wet. At subsequent wash, wash the slippers at regular wool program. AFTER FELTING: If the piece is not felted enough and is too big: Wash the piece one more time in the washing machine while it is still wet add a terry towel that measures approx. 50 x 70 cm = 19¾" x 27½" - NOTE: Do not use a short program. If the piece has been felted too much and is too small: While the piece is still wet stretch it to the correct measurements, if the piece is dry, make sure to soak it first. Remember: All subsequent washes are as a normal wool garment. |
