Bon tricot!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH: Knit on all rows, i.e. knit from right side and knit from wrong side. 1 ridge vertically = knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. BAND WITH I-CORD: BEGINNING OF ROW: Work band as follows (= 7 stitches): Slip 1 stitch knit purlwise with strand in front of piece, knit 1, work 5 stitches in garter stitch. END OF ROW: Work band as follows: Work until 7 stitches remain on row, work 5 stitches in garter stitch, slip 1 stitch purlwise with strand in front of piece, knit 1. Work the same way both from right side and wrong side. BUTTONHOLES: Decrease for buttonholes on right band (when garment is worn). Decrease from right side when 5 stitches remain on row as follows: ROW 1 (= right side): Make 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, knit 1, slip 1 stitch purlwise with strand in front of piece, knit 1. ROW 2 (= wrong side): Work band as before and knit yarn over to make a buttonhole. Decrease for first buttonhole on first row from right side after neck edge has been worked. Then decrease the next 6-6-6-7-7-7-7 buttonholes, approx. 7-7½-8-7-7-7-7½ cm = 2¾"-2⅞"-3⅛"-2¾"-2¾"-2¾"-2⅞" apart. Place bottom buttonhole in the transition between stockinette stitch and rib. SLEEVE TIP: When picking up stitches mid under sleeve, there will be a small hole in the transition between stitches on body and sleeves. The holes can be closed by picking up the strand between two stitches - work this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve to close the hole. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is in the middle of these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked (= 2 stitches decreased). ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JACKET - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: In this pattern needles of different length have been used, begin with fitting length for number of stitches and switch as needed. Work neck edge and yoke back and forth on circular needle from mid front, work top down with increases for round yoke. When yoke is done, divide piece for body and sleeves. Work body downwards back and forth on circular needle while putting the sleeves aside. Then work sleeves downwards in the round on needle. NECK EDGE: Cast on 111-111-111-111-121-121-121 stitches on circular needle size 3.5 MM = US 4 with 1 strand DROPS Nord and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (= 2 strands). Purl 1 row from wrong side. Then work a rib as follows: 7 stitches BAND WITH I-CORD - read explanation above, rib (= knit 1, purl 1) until 8 stitches remain, knit 1 and 7 stitches band with I-cord. Work rib for 3-3-3-3-4-4-4 cm = 1⅛"-1⅛"-1⅛"-1⅛"-1½"-1½"-1½", finish after a row from right side. Insert 1 marker on the inside of band in one side of piece, measure piece from this marker. YOKE: Switch to circular needle size 4.5 MM = US 7 and work first row from right side and begin from mid front as follows- read PATTERN in explanation above: Work band as before, purl 1, * A.1, A.2 *, work from *-* 9-9-9-9-10-10-10 times, A.1 finish with purl 1 and band as before. On first row decrease also for BUTTONHOLES – read explanation above. Remember to follow the knitting gauge! When A.2 has been worked vertically, there are 273-309-327-345-361-381-401 stitches on needle. There are 23-27-29-31-29-31-33 stitches in each repetition of A.2. ONLY APPLIES TO SIZE XS and XL: In size XS and XL work 2-1 repetitions of A.3 vertically (= without increases) over A.2, continue the remaining stitches as before. ALL SIZES: Continue with stockinette stitch and band as before - AT THE SAME TIME on first row adjust number of stitches to 273-297-321-345-361-381-401 stitches. Continue with stockinette stitch and bands until piece measures 19-20-21-23-24-25-26 cm = 7½"-8"-8¼"-9"-9½"-9¾"-10¼", measured from marker mid front Remember to follow the knitting gauge. DIVIDING FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: AT THE SAME TIME as next row is worked divide yoke for body and sleeves as follows: Work 46-50-52-56-59-64-68 stitches as before (= front piece), slip the next 52-56-64-68-70-70-72 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-12-14 new stitches on row (= in the side mid under sleeve), work 77-85-89-97-103-113-121 stitches as before (= back piece), slip the next 52-56-64-68-70-70-72 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-12-14 new stitches on row (= in the side mid under sleeve), and work the last 46-50-52-56-59-64-68 stitches as before (= front piece). Finish body and sleeves separately. BODY: = 181-197-209-225-241-265-285 stitches. Work in stockinette stitch and band as before until piece measures 43-45-47-49-49-51-53 cm = 17"-17¾"-18½"-19¼"-19¼"-20"-21" from marker mid front. On next row from right side begin rib while AT THE SAME TIME increasing 18-18-22-22-26-26-30 stitches evenly on row (do not increase over bands) = 199-215-231-247-267-291-315 stitches, work as follows: Switch to circular needle size 3.5 MM = US 4, work band as before, work rib (= knit 1/purl 1 - remember increase) until 8 stitches remain, knit 1 and band as before. When rib measures 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm = 1½"-1½"-1½"-1½"-2"-2"-2", bind off with knit over knit and purl over purl. Jacket measures 47-49-51-53-54-56-58 cm = 18½"-19¼"-20"-21"-21¼"-22"-22¾" from marker mid front and approx. 52-54-56-58-60-62-64 cm = 20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼" from the shoulder. SLEEVES: Slip 52-56-64-68-70-70-72 sleeve stitches from one thread on to circular needle size 4.5 MM = US 7 and pick in addition up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-8-8-10-12-14 stitches cast on under sleeve - read SLEEVE TIP = 58-62-72-76-80-82-86 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in the middle of the 6-6-8-8-10-12-14 new stitches under sleeve - round begins at the marker thread. Work in stockinette stitch in the round on needle - AT THE SAME TIME when 1 round has been worked after division, decrease mid under sleeve – read DECREASE TIP and decrease as follows: Decrease 2 stitches 2 times on every other round, then decrease 2 stitches every 3½ cm = 1¼" 2-3-7-8-9-9-10 times in total = 50-52-54-56-58-60-62 stitches on needle. Work until sleeve measures 43-43-43-42-40-40-40 cm = 17"-17"-17"-16½"-15¾"-15¾"-15¾" from division. Switch to double pointed needles size 3.5 MM = US 4 and work rib (= knit 1/purl 1) while AT THE SAME TIME increasing 6 stitches evenly on 1st round = 56-58-60-62-64-66-68 stitches. When rib measures 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm = 1½"-1½"-1½"-1½"-2"-2"-2", bind off with knit over knit and purl over purl. Sleeve measures approx. 47-47-47-46-45-45-45 cm = 18½"-18½"-18½"-18"-17¾"-17¾"-17¾" from division. ASSEMBLY: Sew the buttons on to the left band. |
