Bon tricot!

Hi! I haven’t knitted for 3 years and I don’t understand how much yarn I need to buy because in the pattern is written this: 100-100g. Is it 100g or 200? Thanks for answering and have a great day! Mariette Forget
03.12.2021 - 13:03DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mariette. It is 100 g (the first number is for size S/M and the second for size L/XL). Happy knitting!

I love this pattern. I knitted three of them in different colours of Drops Air. Only after finishing all three, I put them in a handwash to block them. They're completely stretched out and unusable. Before getting them wet, I had the exact same gauge as in the pattern. Are you meant to never wash Drops Air? Or do I have to knit a smaller gauge next time even though I matched the pattern exactly? I'm very sad my beautiful hats are ruined now... :(

Dear Linde, check that you really follow the instructions on the schade card - read even more tips here and contact your DROPS store for any further individual assistance, they will be able to help you even per mail or telephone.

Hi, when I need to k2t do I do it through the front or the back? Which side should it lean towards?
18.11.2021 - 10:49DROPS Design answered:
Dear Nat, when it says to knit 2 together, just work the front loop of both stitches, ie a simply "k2 tog" - see video. Happy knitting!

Thank you for this beautiful hat pattern. It is so professional looking that it could be in a designer store! I am in the US and am wondering if you could recommend a yarn that would give that same result as the Drop Air yarn. (is there any acrylic yarn that would work, for ease of washing and drying). Thank you again for a really great hat pattern!
10.11.2021 - 00:00DROPS Design answered:
Dear Megan, if you knit the hat with a different yarn, then the result would be different. So there isn't really anything to substitute for the fluffiness and the lightness of the Air yarn. You can try combining DROPS KidSilk and DROPS Baby Alpaca Silk, to get the fluffiness, but it will not be as light. DROPS does not have an acrylic yarn. As always, do make a gauge swatch, wash it, dry it, and compare the measurements given in the description. Happy Stitching!

Bon tricot !

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round with circular needle, bottom up. Change to double pointed needles when necessary. HAT: Cast on 108-120 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm = US 4 and DROPS Air. Purl 1 round. Work rib in the round (knit 1, purl 1). REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE! Continue until the piece measures 27-29 cm = 10⅝"-11⅜"; there is approx. 7 cm = 2 3/4 left to finished length. Now work A.1 (= 12 stitches) a total of 9-10 times on the round. When A.1 has been completed in height there are 18-20 stitches on the needles. Knit all stitches together 2 and 2 = 9-10 stitches. Cut the strand and pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. The hat measures approx. 34-36 cm = 13⅜"-14¼". Fold up approx. 10 cm = 4" on the right side. |
