How to put together 2 legs

In this DROPS video we show how to put together 2 legs and cast on new stitches between the two legs. We have already worked the 2 legs and start the video by casting on new stitches, knitting the first leg, casting on new stitches and knitting the last leg. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. How to knit a hood

In this DROPS video we show how you can knit a hood. When you want to add a knitted hood to a garment you pick up sts from the right side around the neck opening or knit the hood separate as in the video and sew it to the garment afterward. Knit back and forth on needles until desired length of hood. In this video we are knitting in stockinette with 3 sts in garter each side towards the face opening. When the hood is finished, you bind off, fold double and sew from RS with stitches the same size as the knitted stitches. The seam will be invisible. An alternative to bind off is to do a 3-needle bind off, or sew together the sides with kitchener sts, and you can find separate videos for that here in our video library. How to extend a knitted sleeve or body

Has the sleeve or body become too short and you want to extend it? This DROPS video shows how to put the stitches from a sleeve on needles, cut off the rib and then extend the sleeve first with stockinette and then the rib. The transition is almost completely invisible. At the end of the video we also show a sample piece with two different colors to clearly see how the transition goes. The sleeve in this video is knitted bottom-up, but the extension is worked top-down. The same technique can also be used to extend the body of a sweater or jacket.

How to remove the filling and refill a pouffe

Sometimes you may wish to wash the pouffe cover after some time of use. In this DROPS video we show you how to cut up the assembly thread and remove the filling (duvet) and how to put in the filling (duvet) back into the pouffe and sew it together again. How to turn and knit panels together

We have several patterns in our more recent collections that are knitted in panels that are knit together. Some panels are knitted in a spiral and then turned at each corner with 2 sets of short rows. In this DROPS video we show how you can do this. How to work a displacement after chart

In some patterns it is often drawn in the chart a black square, which indicate that there is no stitch and that one should go directly to the next symbol in the chart. The first time, you have to work the last stitch from the previous round. In this DROPS video we work 5 reports of a chart, we have marked with pink threads between each report. When we work the 1st report on the 13th round, we unravel the last stitch from the previous round and put it back on the left needle, so that the chart moves 1 stitch to the right. How to turn a piece and continue knitting

In this DROPS video we show how to turn a piece and then continue working with the wrong side out and the wrong side becomes the right side. Turn the work towards you - the last worked stitch will now be the first stitch on the needle. Knit the next round in stocking stitch as follows: Slip the first stitch onto the right needle (this stitch is not worked) – work all stitches on the round in stocking stitch. On next round: To avoid a hole where the piece was turned, lift up the thread between the last stitch of the previous round and the first stitch of this round to the left needle and knit this thread together with the first stitch. How to start crocheting

In this DROPS video we show how to start your crochet project with a loop on your hook. There are two ways to hold the hook: Knife Method - Place the crochet hook in your right hand as you would a knife. Hold the hook between your thumb and index finger two inches from the hook end, resting the end of the hook against your palm. Place the thread over your left index finger, down into the hand and keep it in place with the help of your little finger. Pencil method - Hold the hook in your right hand two inches from the hooked end between your right thumb and index finger and let it rest on your right hand’s middle finger. How to crochet a chain stitch (ch)

In this DROPS video we show you how to crochet a chain stitch (ch). Hold the slip knot between your thumb and middle finger on the left hand. Move the hook under and over the yarn, with the yarn held in the hook. Pull the hook and the yarn back through the slip knot to form the first chain stitch. Keep going until you have the number of chains stated in your pattern. When counting stitches, do not count the stitch on the hook. It is easy to work too tight, first we show many chain stitchs after each other where we work correctly. When we pull the thread through the loop and got a new st we MUST get along the thickness on that is on the hook (in the video we take the new st far up the crochet hook so that you easily can see what we mean). Then we show how NOT to work a chain stitch. Here we work the new stitch only through and let the new st lie on the thin part of the hook instead of the thick part. We then get a chain st that gets shorter and the crochet tension will not be properly with patterns. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. In this DROPS video we show how to crochet a slip stitch (sl st). Insert the hook through a stitch, wrap the yarn round the hook and pull the hook and the yarn through both stitches.
