Increases and decreases on a baby hat

The hat we work on in the video is worked back and forth on needle. Cast on the given number of stitches including 1 edge st each side which we knit on all rows. We have already worked 12 rows, including ridges and we have placed 7 markers. We start the video showing from the right side (RS) how we increase at 1st marker with a yo, and then how we decrease at 2nd marker by dec 1 st each side of st with marker like this: start 1 st before st with marker, slip 1 st on cable needle behind piece, slip 1 st (= st with marker), K tog next st and st on cable needle, pass slipped stitch over. Repeat increase with yo at 3rd, 5th and 7th marker and repeat the dec at 4th and 6th marker. K sts on RS between markers, and end row with K 1 edge st. On WS you K 1 edge st each side and P all other sts, all yo’s are P twisted (i.e. work in back loop of st instead of front) to avoid holes. How to knit the diagrams in DROPS Baby 5-10

How to work the slippers in DROPS Children 27-19

In this DROPS video we show to work the “Lemon Jelly” slippers in DROPS Children 27-19. By working with smaller needles than you normally do for DROPS Snow, you get a firmer slipper. But remember the needle size in the pattern are only the recommended size. We use needle 4 in the video and working according to size 20/21 (the smallest size). We have already cast on 24 stitches and show a bit of the 1st round which is knit and a bit of the 2nd round which is purled (= 1 RIGDE in garter stitch). Work garter stich until the piece measures 3 cm = 1 1/8". Then the first 8 stitches of the round are kept on the needle and the remaining 16 stitches are put on 1 thread. Cast on 1 stitch at the beginning and 1 stitch at the end of the 8 stitches on the needle. Work garter stich back and forth until the work measures 4 from where the stitches were put on 1 thread. Bind off 1 stitch in each side. Knit up 6 stitches in each side and put the stitches on the thread back on the needle. Put 1 marking thread in the middle of the front and 1 in the middle of the back. When the piece measures 2 from the marker threads, decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker threads, decrease like this every other round until the piece measures 4 cm = 1 1/2". Then bind off the remaining stitches and sew the seam under the foot in outer loops of edge stitch. These slippers are worked in DROPS Snow, the same yarn we use in the video. DROPS 146-3 Lace pattern

This nice lace pattern is easy to knit. We already made one repetition following the chart. In the video we show how to work the pattern rows in the chart. We have 1 edge st each side worked in garter st i.e. K on every row. Start at the bottom right corner and follow the chart text in the pattern. All uneven rows are pattern rows worked from RS. DROPS 139-5 M.4B Lace pattern

In this video we already have worked the first rows in chart to show the pattern. 1st row work from RS starting at bottom right corner of chart: P2, K2 tog, yo, K2, P2. 2nd row from WS start at 2nd row in diagram and work from left to right: K2, P2 tog, yo, P2, K2. Moebius aka Möbius

Moebius, a German mathematician from the beginning of the 19th century, who developed the magically twisted circle ring on which this knitting technique is based. Use a long circular needle - at least 32 inch. Cast on around double needle points. Number of sts cast on divided by gauge will give finished diameter. Pull out one needle and move sts to needle with no working yarn. With other side of needle pick up sts in each long loop under each stitch all around. (Since not picking up in the first st you will end up with an odd total number of sts). The needles should now be on the outside of the cable and the cable is twisted one time on the middle. Join and start knitting in the round. First time you get to the starting tail you have worked all sts cast on on needle and now you will make first round on the sts picked up and first time you work these you knit in the back loop. Following rounds will be worked in front loop as normally. If you keep knitting in the round half your work will be in stockinette and half in reversed stockinette. Since you have an odd number of sts you could K1,P1 all around and your moebius will be all in seed sts.

Chart A.1, A.2 and A.3 in DROPS 0-1108

In this DROPS video we show how to work after chart A.1, A.2 and A.3 for a shoulder piece in DROPS Extra 0-1108. In the video we show chart A.1 one time (= 7 sts), chart A.2 two times (= 12 sts) and chart A.3 one time (= 6 sts). We work 3 garter st in each side and have already worked the chart 1 time in height so that you can see the pattern better. REMEMBER - you will also need to read the pattern to be able to follow. Knit stripes in garter st with short rows

In this video we show how you can knit stripes in garter st and at the same time short rows. Knit as follows: 1st row (= RS): Work until 2 sts remain, turn and work back, work until 4 sts remain, turn and work back. Continue like this (work 2 sts less than previous time) until the last 2 sts on needle have been worked back and forth. Knit at the same time the stripes. Decrease in DROPS no. 155-1

In this video we show you how to knit the stripes, short rows and at the same time decrease at the side. Knit as follows: Slip the first 2 sts loosely over on to right needle, pull yarn behind the 2 sts, work the remaining sts and work back but not over the last 2 sts. Continue like this (slip 2 sts more on to right needle for every time) until 2 sts remain on needle and last row is from WS.
