How to work several cables after a chart

In this DROPS video we show how to work several cables after chart M.1 to the dog coat in DROPS 102-43.
We work 3 garter stitches in each side and we have already worked 17 rows of the chart so you can see the cables better. We start the by working the 18th row.

On this row the cables are worked like this:
Put 3 stitches on cable needle behind the work, knit 3, knit 3 from cable needle.
On row 20 and 22 work 1st and 3rd cables like this: Put 1 stitch on a cable needle behind the work, knit 3, purl 1 from the cable needle.
And 2nd and 4th cables are worked like this:
Put 3 stitches on a cable needle in front of work, purl 1, knit 3 from cable needle

This dog coat is worked in DROPS Karisma, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow.

Bonjour Mme Plachot, la plupart du temps (autrement dit, sauf indication contraire), tous les rangs figurent dans les diagrammes, ceux sur l'endroit aussi bien que ceux sur l'envers. Bon tricot!

Dear Brigitte, the video only shows how to cross over the different cables, not how to work each diagram step by step. You need to follow the written pattern and the diagram to work these repeats. Happy knitting!

Liebe Heike, in S stricken Sie die 112 Maschen so: * M.2 (= 4 M), 2 Maschen links *, von *-* 2 x arbeiten (= (4+2)*2= 12 M), M.2 (= 4 M), * M.3, M.2 *, von *-* 2 x arbeiten( = (14+4)x2 = 36 M), M.1 (= obere Rückenmitte = 24 M.), * M.2, M.3 *, von *-* 2 x arbeiten (= 4+12)x2 = 32 M.) so haben Sie: 12+4+36+24+36= 112 M. Thank you. I was trying to do the cables on the wrong side and now that you have told me cables are only knitted on the right side it makes it perfectly clear. The videos don’t give help on the cabling when done on the section where it is knitted back and forth.

Dear Ginny, the cables should be always worked from the right side, ie always on the right side rows, from WS work the stitches as shown in the diagram (most likely P over P and K over K) when you work each piece separately for leg opening. Couldl this lesson help?
