Gauge: 17 sts x 22 rows in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm.

Rib: * K 1, P 1 *, repeat * - *.

Pattern: See the charts for Model No. 13 on page 23 of Drops No. 93. The pattern is seen from the right side.

Shoulder warmer: Cast on 244 sts around 2 needles (so that the cast-on edge will be elastic). Pull out one needle and K 4 garter st (round 1 = right side). Now knit Pattern 1, keeping 3 sts at each edge in garter st throughout.
After Pattern 1 knit the next row as follows from right side: K 3 (edge sts), * K 2 tog, yo *, repeat * - * and finish with K 3 (edge sts). Then knit 3 rows stockinette st, decreasing 28 sts evenly distributed on the 2nd row = 216 sts – do not dec over the 3 edge sts at each side.
Then knit Pattern 2. After Pattern 2 104 sts remain. Knit the next row as follows (from right side): K 3 (edge sts), * K 2 tog, yo *, repeat * - * and finish with K 3 (edge sts). Then knit 2 rows stockinette st, 1st row knit from wrong side, decreasing on 2nd row to 103 sts. The piece measures approx. 25 cm.

Collar: Knit rib – see instructions above – keeping 3 edge sts in garter st as before. When the rib measures 12 cm bind off all sts loosely in rib.
Cord with pompoms: Cut 2 strands Alaska approx. 2.5 meters long. Twist together until tight, fold in half and let twist up on itself. Tie a knot in each end, the cord will be approx. 1 meter long. Thread cord through holes of lace in neck. Make 2 pompoms – see instructions on page 3 of Drops No. 93. Each pompom should be approx. 6-7 cm in diameter. Fasten 1 pompom at each end of cord.
