I str. 38 går strømpen næsten op til knæet.

I'm working on the 71/2- 9 sock , and 56 stitches . The first decrease I don't under stand . When it says to switch to 4mm/US 6, decrease 2 stitches and you should have 52 stitches .Is it decrease 4 stitches to get the 52 or decrease 2 stitches and have 54 stitches ?
25.02.2019 - 12:28DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Huey, on first round with larger needle and first round in A.1 you will decrease a total of 4 sts in 2nd size: 17 stitches in stocking stitch AT THE SAME TIME decrease 2-3 stitches evenly over these stitches, work A.1 over the next 22 stitches, work 17 stitches in stocking stitch AT THE SAME TIME decrease 2 stitches evenly over these stitches= you have now 15 sts in stocking st, A.1 over 22 sts and 15 sts in stocking stitch = 52 sts. Happy knitting!

INFORMATION FOR PATTERN: PATTERN: See diagram A.1. DECREASE TIP: Decrease as follows: Begin 3 stitches before marker thread: Knit 2 stitches together, knit 2 stitches (marker thread is between these stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked. HEEL DECREASE: Worked in stockinette stitch: ROW 1 (= right side): Work until 5-6-6 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch knitted, turn piece. ROW 2 (= wrong side): Work until 5-6-6 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch knitted, turn piece. ROW 3 (= right side): Work until 4-5-5 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch knitted, turn piece. ROW 4 (= wrong side): Work until 4-5-5 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch knitted, turn piece. Continue decrease like this with 1 stitch less before each decrease until there are 10-10-12 stitches. ------------------------------------------------------- SOCKS: Worked in the round on double pointed needles from leg and down to toe. Cast on 56-56-64 stitches on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm / US 4 with Nepal. Insert 1 marker thread at beginning of round = mid back. Knit 1 round, then work rib as follows: Knit 1, * purl 2, knit 2 *, repeat from *-* until 3 stitches remain and finish with purl 2 and knit 1. Work rib for 4-5-5 cm / 1½"-2"-2". Switch to double pointed needles size 4 mm / US 6, work next round as follows: 17-17-21 stitches in stockinette stitch AT THE SAME TIME decrease 5-2-3 stitches evenly over these stitches, work A.1 over the next 22 stitches, work 17-17-21 stitches in stockinette stitch AT THE SAME TIME decrease 5-2-3 stitches evenly over these stitches = 46-52-58 stitches. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! Continue with A.1 with 12-15-18 stitches in stockinette stitch in each side, AT THE SAME TIME decrease in the different sizes as follows: SIZE 5/6½ (EU35/37): Continue to work without decrease SIZE 7½/9 (EU38/40): When piece measures 9 and 16 cm / 3½" and 6¼", decrease 2 stitches mid back - READ DECREASE TIP. SIZE 9½/10½ (EU41/43): When piece measures 8, 13 and 18 cm / 3", 5" and 7", decrease 2 stitches mid back - READ DECREASE TIP = 46-48-52 stitches. ALL SIZES: Work until piece measures 24-25-26 cm / 9½"-9¾"-10¼". REMEMBER THE GAUGE! Now keep the first 9-10-11 stitches on needle, slip the next 28-28-30 stitches on 1 stitch holder (= mid on top of foot) and keep the last 9-10-11 stitches on needle = 18-20-22 stitches for heel. Work in stockinette stitch over heel stitches for 5-5½-6 cm / 2"-2¼"-2½". Insert 1 marker thread in the middle of needle - now measure piece from here. Now decrease for heel - READ HEEL DECREASE. After heel decrease, pick up 10-11-11 stitches on each side of heel and slip the 28-28-30 stitches from stitch holder back on needle = 58-60-64 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread on each side of the 28-28-30 stitches from stitch holder. Then work in stockinette stitch in the round and pattern A.1 as before while AT THE SAME TIME decreasing in each side every other round 8-8-8 times in total as follows: Knit the last 2 stitches before first marker on top of foot together and knit the first 2 stitches after last marker on top of foot twisted together = 42-44-48 stitches. Work until piece measures 18-20-22 cm / 7"-8"-8¾" from marker thread (= 4-4-5 cm / 1½"-1½"-2" remain). Insert 1 marker thread in each side so that there are 21-22-24 stitches on top of foot and 21-22-24 stitches under foot. Work in stockinette stitch over all stitches. Then decrease for toes on each side of both markers - READ DECREASE TIP (= 4 stitches decreased). Decrease in each side on every other round a total of 5-5-6 times and then on every round a total of 3-3-3 times = 10-12-12 stitches remain on needle. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten together and fasten. Knit another sock the same way. |
