At the end of row 5 I get 17 groups not 16 as stated in pattern, do I skip the first chain space of previous row? thanks.
15.05.2016 - 05:05DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Rizzo, at the end of round 5 you should have 16 groups (= 1 group in each ch-space from previous round) + the ch5 from beg of round. Happy crocheting!

Try to find the videos for this pattern has taken me so far 2 hour. I don't understand the pattern that is why I am looking for the video. From previous comments you say to look in the vedios. But I must be blind or don't understand what I am looking for. So sad

Thank you. - I did a sc in EVERY Dc (64) plus a sc in every chain (64), plus 2sc in every 4th chain. I didn't catch the difference between a ch (one individual stitch) and a chsp (the hole created by 2chains.) Thank you for the clarification.

When I finish the first sc row (with increases in every fourth chain-space) I have 144 stitches. What am I doing wrong?
25.04.2014 - 05:50DROPS Design answered:
Dear Barbara, you should work 1 sc over each of the dc (32 dc-groups = 64 sc) + 1 sc in each ch-space (32 sc) + work 2 sc in every 4th ch space (4 times = 8 sc), so that you should get : 64+ 32 + 8 = 104 sc. Happy crocheting!

CROCHET TIP: At beg of every sc round, replace first sc with ch 1 and finish round with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round. DECREASE SC: Dec 1 sc by working 2 sc tog as follows: Work 1 sc but wait with last pull through (= 2 sts on hook), then work next sc but pull last YO through all 3 sts on hook = dec 1 sc. -------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Ch 7 on hook size 3 mm / C and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. ROUND 1: ch 4 (= 1 dc + 1 ch), * 1 dc in ch-ring, ch 1 *, repeat from *-* a total of 7 times, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= 8 dc with 1 ch between each). ROUND 2: ch 3 (= 1 dc), 1 dc in ch space, * ch 2, 2 dc in next ch space *, repeat from *-*, finish with ch 2 and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= 8 dc-groups with 2 ch between each). ROUND 3: ch 6 (= 1 dc + 3 ch), * 2 dc in next ch space, ch 3 *, repeat from *-* a total of 7 times, finish with 1 dc in last ch space and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round. ROUND 5: ch 5 (= 1 dc + 2 ch), * 2 dc in next ch space, ch 2 *, repeat from *-* a total of 15 times, finish with 1 dc in last ch space and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= 16 dc-groups with 2 ch between each). ROUND 6: ch 3 (= 1 dc), 1 dc in ch space, * ch 3, 2 dc in next ch space *, repeat from *-* a total of 15 times, finish with ch 3 and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= 16 dc-groups with 3 ch between each). Then work 9th and 10th round alternately upwards until piece measures approx. 16-17 cm / 6¼"-6¾" from middle and down. Work next round as follows: 1 sc in every dc and 1 sc in every ch space from previous round while AT THE SAME TIME working 2 sc (instead of 1 sc) in every 4th ch space = 104 sc. Then work brim as follows - REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE and READ CROCHET TIP: ROUND 1: Work 1 sc in every sc while at the same time inc 8 sc evenly, i.e. work 2 sc in every 13th sc = 112 sc. ROUND 2: Work 1 sc in every sc while at the same time inc 4 sc evenly, i.e. work 2 sc in every 28th sc = 116 sc. ROUND 3-5: Work 1 sc in every sc while at the same time inc 4 sc evenly on every round = 128 sc. NOTE! The inc are on top of each other on every round, i.e. work 1 more sc for every round before inc 1 sc. ROUND 6-13: Work 1 sc in every sc = 128 sc. ROUND 14: Work 1 sc in every sc while at the same time inc 16 sc evenly, i.e. work 2 sc in every 8th sc = 144 sc. ROUND 15-16: Work 1 sc in every sc = 144 sc. ROUND 17: Work 1 sc in every sc while at the same time dec 4 sc evenly, i.e. work every 35th and 36th sc tog - see DECREASE SC! = 140 sc. ROUND 18-22: Work 1 sc in every sc = 140 sc. Fasten off. |
