Just looked at the pattern again, you start with 56 stitches as you say but then increase to 66 stitches, on the pattern you haven't allowed for the extra 10 stitches increased, so after Dec by 14 stitches and casting off the middle 16 stitches you have 36 stitches (18 for each side) not 26 as you say. but I can now work it out from this. Must say it is a lovely pattern x

Dear Mrs Foxcroft, front piece starts with 56 sts inc to 66 because you will work cables, but there are no cables on back piece, ie you cast on 56 sts and work in reverse stockinette to the end, that's why number of sts is then different than on front piece. Happy knitting!

I am up to the neck on the back. It says work till piece measures 26 cm (size2) now cast off middle 16 stitches. I have 52 on for this size so less 16 sts = 36 which makes 18 for left and right size. Cast off 1 st on neckline and it says I should now have 12 but if there are 18 less one would make 17? Hope you can help
01.03.2016 - 22:27DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Foxcroft, on back piece you should have 42 sts after armhole dec (you start 2nd size with 56 sts and bind off a total of 14 sts for armholes (= 7 sts on each size) then bind off 16 sts for neck = 13 st - 1 st dec towards neck = 12 sts for each shoulder. Happy knitting!

How many rows are knitted between the cable patterns .Also are the cable rows knitted the one after the other?I am somehow confused. Uwith this pattern
13.02.2016 - 14:51DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Areti, in diagram, 1 square = 1 st x 1 row, so that you will work 5 rows between each cable, ie cable are worked every 6th row. Happy knitting!

Continue in garter st on all sts for 1½-2-2½ (3-3½) cm [½"-¾"-⅞" (1⅛"-1¼")], now P 1 round and bind off all sts except the 10-12-12 (14-14) sts mid front. Work 9-10-11 (13-15) cm [3½"-4"-4⅜" (5⅛"-6")] garter sts on these sts for sole and bind off. Sew sole to bootie, edge to edge to avoid a chunky seam. Knit the other bootie in the same way. |
