Resåren på fram och bakstycke, ska det verkligen vara 4 varv avig/rät? Måtten är det samma som ärmslut i ritningen där det ska vara 2 varv. Samt det framgår inte när och hur man ska maska av fram- och bakstycke.

Hello! I have started this with Alize Cotton Baby, yarn size 4, I get 10X10cm with 24 st and 34 rows. I cast on size M and it gives me a length of 53 cm instead of 32 as in pattern, so I am wondering if the sizing is correct, since, as per your indications, your yarn is thicker than mine. I also do not understand how A+A is the same as C and my yarn, being smaller than C, gives me a MUCH longer neck. Thank you!
26.02.2025 - 15:11DROPS Design answered:
Dear Yarnia, A+A or C are for the yarn groups (read more here), so you are working here with 2 strands DROPS Kid-Silk (yarn group A) for a tension of 18 sts x 24 rows stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm. If you don't have same tension (try with double strand), you might have to check another pattern matching your pattern, to avoid having to re-calculate the whole pattern matching your tension. Happy knitting!

24.02.2025 - 20:32DROPS Design answered:
Liebe Anita, die ersten Raglanzunahmen entstehen in jeder 2. Reihe (1.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows, from both the right and wrong side. 1 ridge in height = knit 2 rows. BANDS WITH I-CORD BEGINNING OF ROW: Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1, work 5 garter stitches. END OF ROW: Work until there are 7 stitches left on the row, work 5 garter stitches, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1. Work in the same way from both the right and wrong side. RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is worked as follows on the next row: BEFORE MARKER-STITCH: Purl through the back loop to avoid a hole. Then work the new stitch in stockinette stitch. AFTER MARKER-STITCH: Slip the yarn over off the left needle and replace it twisted (insert the left needle through the back when replacing it). Purl the front loop to avoid a hole. Then work the new stitch in stockinette stitch. BUTTONHOLES: Work the buttonholes on the right band (when garment is worn) from the right side, when there are 5 stitches left on the row. ROW 1 (right side): Make 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, knit 1, slip 1 purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1. ROW 2 (wrong side): Work the band as before, knit the yarn over to leave a hole. The first buttonhole is worked on the first row from the right side after the neck is finished. Then work the other 4-4-5-5-5-5 buttonholes with 9½-10-8-8½-9-9½ cm = 3⅝"-4"-3⅛"-3¼"-3½"-3⅝" between each one. DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JACKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE. The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The neck and yoke are worked back and forth with circular needle, from mid front and top down. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for body and sleeves and the body continued back and forth, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked in the round, top down. NECK: Cast on 109-115-117-123-131-133 stitches with circular needle size 3 MM = US 2.5 and 2 strands DROPS Kid-Silk. Work 3 rows stockinette stitch, with 7 stitches worked according to BANDS WITH I-CORD on each side (first and last rows are from the wrong side). Continue as follows: From the right side: Work 7 band-stitches, rib (knit 1, purl 1) until there are 8 stitches left, knit 1 and 7 band-stitches. From the wrong side: Work 7 band-stitches, rib (purl 1, knit 1) until there are 8 stitches left, purl 1 and 7 band-stitches. Work stockinette stitch with 7 band-stitches on each side for 4-4-4-5-5-5 cm = 1½"-1½"-1½"-2"-2"-2". The neck measures approx. 6-6-6-7-7-7 cm = 2⅜"-2⅜"-2⅜"-2¾"-2¾"-2¾". YOKE: Insert 4 markers without working the stitches and each marker inserted into a stitch (raglan-stitch) which is then worked in stockinette stitch. Count 20-22-22-24-26-26 stitches (= left front piece), insert marker-1 in the next stitch, count 19 stitches (= sleeve), insert marker-2 in the next stitch, count 27-29-31-33-37-39 stitches (= back piece), insert marker-3 in the next stitch, count 19 stitches (= sleeve), insert marker-4 in the next stitch, there are 20-22-22-24-26-26 stitches left after the last marker (= right front piece). Insert 1 marker inside one band; the yoke is now measured from here. Continue with stockinette stitch and the bands and increase for RAGLAN as follows – read explanation above. Remember the first buttonhole on the first row - read explanation above. ROW 1: Change to circular needle size 4.5 MM = US 7. Knit and work the bands as before, increasing for raglan on each side of all 4 raglan-stitches (= 8 increased stitches). ROW 2. Purl and work the bands as before. Work ROWS 1 and 2 a total of 3-3-8-9-8-7 times (6-6-16-18-16-14 rows worked) = 133-139-181-195-195-189 stitches. Remember to maintain the knitting gauge. Now increase for raglan as follows: ROW 1: Knit and work the bands as before, increasing for raglan on each side of all 4 raglan-stitches (= 8 increased stitches). ROW 2. Purl and work the bands as before. ROW 3: Knit and work the bands as before, increasing for raglan only on the front and back pieces, not on the sleeves (= 4 increased stitches). ROW 4: Purl and work the bands as before. Work ROWS 1 to 4 a total of 11-12-10-11-13-15 times (44-48-40-44-52-60 rows worked: you have increased 11-12-10-11-13-15 times on the sleeves, 22-24-20-22-26-30 times on the front and back pieces) = 265-283-301-327-351-369 stitches. All increases for raglan are finished: You have increased a total of 25-27-28-31-34-37 times on the front and back pieces and 14-15-18-20-21-22 times on the sleeves. Continue with stockinette stitch and the bands until the yoke measures 21-23-24-27-29-32 cm = 8¼"-9"-9½"-10⅝"-11⅜"-12½" from the marker mid-front. Now divide for the body and sleeves. DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: Work 46-50-51-56-61-64 stitches as before (= front piece), place the next 47-49-55-59-61-63 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 10-12-14-16-18-20 stitches (under the sleeve), work 79-85-89-97-107-115 stitches (= back piece), place the next 47-49-55-59-61-63 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 10-12-14-16-18-20 stitches (under the sleeve), work the last 46-50-51-56-61-64 stitches as before (= front piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. BODY: = 191-209-219-241-265-283 stitches. Continue with stockinette stitch and the bands until the piece measures 42-44-46-48-50-52 cm = 16½"-17¼"-18"-19"-19¾"-20½" from the marker mid-front. Now work as follows from the right side: Work the 7 band-stitches, rib (knit 1, purl 1) until there are 8 stitches left, knit 1 and work the 7 band-stitches. Work a total of 4 rows like this. Now work as follows from the right side: Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1, knit until there are 2 stitches left. slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1. From the wrong side: Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1, purl until there are 2 stitches left. slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1. Repeat these 2 rows one more time = 4 rows worked. The jacket measures approx. 45-47-49-51-53-55 cm = 17¾"-18½"-19¼"-20"-21"-21⅝" from the marker mid-front and 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm = 19¾"-20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝" from top of shoulder. Bind off. SLEEVES: Place the 47-49-55-59-61-63 sleeve-stitches from one thread on circular needle size 4.5 MM = US 7 and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 10-12-14-16-18-20 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 57-61-69-75-79-83 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 10-12-14-16-18-20 stitches under the sleeve. Start at the marker-thread and work stockinette stitch in the round. When the sleeve measures 3 cm = 1⅛", decrease 2 stitches under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 10-10-5-3½-3-2½ cm = 4"-4"-2"-1¼"-1⅛"-1" a total of 3-4-7-9-10-11 times = 51-53-55-57-59-61 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 41-39-39-36-34-32 cm = 16⅛"-15¼"-15¼"-14¼"-13⅜"-12½" from the division. Change to double pointed needles size 3 MM = US 2.5. Work 2 rounds of rib (knit 1, purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 1 stitch on the first round = 52-54-56-58-60-62 stitches. Knit 4 rounds. Bind off with double pointed needles size 4.5 MM = US 7. ASSEMBLY: Sew the buttons onto the left band. |
