Help me !!! Merci

Bon tricot!

Is the pattern only one size? If so, the S/M 54/56cm is a bit misleading
20.10.2024 - 07:52DROPS Design answered:
Dear Lotta, the hat is one size, that, because its pattern is a bit flexible, thus fits size S as well as M. Happy Knitting!

Witam.

Hello, I am on the 2nd row of A1. I don't understand about the black square. The diagram explanation states to go directly to the next symbol. The 3rd stitch is the black square and the next is a purl stitch. Do you mean the 3rd black square should be a purl stitch? Or do you mean to pass the 3rd stitch to the right needle (no knitting) and continue with the 4th stitch? Thank you very much for your kind help!
29.11.2023 - 03:41DROPS Design answered:
Hi Janet, The 3rd stitch is purled as is the 4th, then the 5th stitch is knitted etc., (so just skip the black squares). Happy knitting!

Danke! LG Dörte

Knitted hat in DROPS Alaska. Piece is knitted with cables.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. INCREASE TIP (evenly): To calculate how to increase evenly, use the total number of stitches on row (e.g. 100 stitches) and divide stitches by number of increases to be done (e.g. 10) = 10. In this example increase by making 1 yarn over after every 10th stitch. On next round work yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Worked in the round on circular needle. Switch to double pointed needles when needed. HAT: Cast on 100 stitches on a short circular needle size 3.5 mm = US 4 with Alaska. Purl 1 round. Then work rib (= knit 2/purl 2) in the round for 9 cm = 3½". Knit 1 round while increasing 10 stitches evenly - read INCREASE TIP = 110 stitches. Switch to circular needle size 4.5 mm = US 7. Now work pattern A.1 (= 22 stitches) a total of 5 times on round. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE! When A.1 has been worked vertically, repeat pattern vertically 2 more times (= 3 times in total). Piece now measures approx. 25 cm = 9¾". Now work A.2 over A.1. When entire A.2 has been worked vertically, there are 40 stitches on round. Now decrease as follows: ROUND 1: * Knit 2, knit 2 together * (= 1 stitch decreased), work from *-* the entire round = 30 stitches. ROUND 2: Knit stitches together 2 by 2 = 15 stitches. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten together and fasten. Hat measures approx. 26 cm = 10¼" with 7 cm = 2¾" fold at the bottom (33 cm = 13" in total). |
