Buon lavoro!

STRIPE POT HOLDER 1: Color 1: off white Color 2: peach Color 3: apricot Color 4: raspberry STRIPE POT HOLDER 2: Color 1: off white Color 2: light yellow Color 3: vanilla Color 4: strong yellow ---------------------------------------------------------- Work one pot holder in each color combination. POT HOLDER: Pot holder consists of 2 spirals that are worked tog at the end. When piece is worked in the round, start with this technique to avoid hole in the middle (instead of ch-ring) use color 1: Use crochet hook size 3.5mm/E/4 and hold the yarn, wind the yarn one time around the index finger to make a loop. Hold the loop with left thumb and middle finger, place the yarn over left index finger. Insert hook through the loop, make a YO and pull yarn through loop, ch 1, then work around the loop as follows: ROUND 1: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc. Insert 1 stitch marker in loop on last dc so that it does not unravel and place yarn aside. Switch to color 2 and work as follows in loop: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc. Insert 1 stitch marker in loop on last dc so that it does not unravel and place yarn aside. Switch to color 3 and work as follows in loop: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc. Insert 1 stitch marker in loop on last dc so that it does not unravel and place yarn aside. Switch to color 4 and work as follows in loop: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc. Pull the yarn end (color 1) to tighten loop. Fasten the yarn end on the back side. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE! ROUND 2: Continue with color 4. Work 2 dc in each of the next 3 sts (= 1 sc, 1 hdc + 1 dc worked with color 1). Insert 1 stitch marker in loop on last dc so that it does not unravel and place yarn aside. Continue with color 1. Work 2 dc in each of the next 3 sts (= 1 sc, 1 hdc + 1 dc worked with color 2). Insert 1 stitch marker in loop on last dc so that it does not unravel and place yarn aside. Continue with color 2. Work 2 dc in each of the next 3 sts (= 1 sc, 1 hdc + 1 dc worked with color 3). Insert 1 stitch marker in loop on last dc so that it does not unravel and place yarn aside. Continue with color 3. Work 2 dc in each of the next 3 sts (= 1 sc, 1 hdc + 1 dc worked with color 4) = 24 dc. ROUND 3: Continue with color 3. * Work 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* 2 more times, insert 1 stitch marker in loop on the last dc to avoid it from unravelling and place yarn aside. Continue with color 4. * Work 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* 2 more times, insert 1 stitch marker in loop on the last dc to avoid it from unravelling and place yarn aside. Continue with color 1. * Work 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* 2 more times, insert 1 stitch marker in loop on the last dc to avoid it from unravelling and place yarn aside. Continue with color 2. * Work 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* 2 more times = 36 dc. ROUND 4: Continue with color 2. * Work 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* 2 more times, insert 1 stitch marker in loop on the last dc to avoid it from unravelling and place yarn aside. Continue with color 3. * Work 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* 2 more times, insert 1 stitch marker in loop on the last dc to avoid it from unravelling and place yarn aside. Continue with color 4. * Work 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* 2 more times, insert 1 stitch marker in loop on the last dc to avoid it from unravelling and place yarn aside. Continue with color 1. * Work 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* 2 more times = 48 dc. Continue as 4th round upwards, i.e. work 1 dc more between inc on every round, and change color as before upwards. Continue until circle measures approx. 20 cm / 8'' in diameter. Now finish circle as follows (this is done with every color). Work 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, 1 sl st, fasten off. SPIRAL IN ONE COLOR: When piece is worked in the round, start with this technique to avoid hole in the middle (instead of ch-ring) use color 3: Hold the yarn end and wind the yarn one time around the index finger to make a loop. Hold the loop with left thumb and middle finger, place the yarn over left index finger. Insert hook through the loop, make a YO and pull yarn through loop, work ch 1, then work around the loop as follows: ROUND 1: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 10 dc = 12 sts. Now continue every round without finishing, work in the round. ROUND 2: Work 2 dc in every st = 24 sts. ROUND 3: * Work 1 dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc* , repeat from *-* 6 times = 36 sts. ROUND 4: * Work 1 dc in each of the first 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc* , repeat from *-* 6 times = 48 sts. Continue as 4th round upwards, i.e. work 1 dc more between inc on every round. Continue until circle measures approx. 20 cm / 8'' in diameter. Now finish circle as follows. Work 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, 1 sl st, fasten off. ASSEMBLY: Place the WS of the multi-colored spiral on to the RS of the single colored spiral and crochet them tog with color no. 3. Work 1 sc through both layers, work 25 ch (= strap), then work 1 sc in each st to end of round, work 25 sc around strap and finish with 1 sl st in first sc on round. |
