Thank you for your reply (29.09.2021 kl. 07:46), however I am knitting the sleeve to the length of my own arm, so it is longer than the 58cm specified in the pattern. It would be most helpful to just know how many stitches should be left on the needle when the pattern gets to 58 cm - it is not helpful to just say cast off 2 stitches each side until a certain length! Are you able to be more specific? Thank you!
29.09.2021 - 08:01DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Firth, in size M the sleeve cap measures 9 cm, you can adjust the length of the sleeve before starting to cast off for the sleeve cap and finish the sleeve cap as explained here so that it fit the armhole, ie cast off 2 sts on each side until sleeve cap measures 9 cm, then cast off 3 sts at the beg of next 2 rows and cast off remaining sts. Happy knitting!

Hi, I'm finding the sleeve confusing as it doesn't state how many stitches at cast off so I've no way of knowing if I'm shaping it correctly. How many stitches should there be at cast off? Medium size: "Continue to cast off for sleeve cap at beg of row each side as follows: 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 4 times, then cast off 2 sts each side until piece measures 58 cm, now cast off 3 sts 1 time each side. Cast off remaining sts."
29.09.2021 - 05:12DROPS Design answered:
Dear Pam, you first cast off as stated (at the beg of each row on each side, both from RS and WS): 2 sts 3 times then 1 st 4 times, but then you have to cast off 2 sts on each side until sleeve measures 58 cm, since the most important is here the height/length and not the width, make just sure to have cast off the same number of sts on each side, then cast off 3 sts 1 time on each side. Happy knitting!

Re: my questions on the pattern Dreams of Heather 123-3. She said it could not be found. It’s easily found on the internet at DROPS 123-3-free knitting patterns by DROPS Design. I need help with whether I should complete the same #of arm hole BO’s as the back or stop aft completing 1 repeat of seed st. “Bind off by working 2 st tog” is also confusing & I’m on the WS aft 4 rows of seed , not RS. ??
03.03.2020 - 21:08DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Fischels, when you bind off for armhole on back piece, you have to cast off on each side: first 2 sts a total of 0 to 8 times (see size) then 1 st a total of 1 to 6 times. this means you have to cast off 2 stitches at the beg of next 0-2-4-12-16 rows (= 0-1-2-4-6-8 sts casf off on each side) then cast off 1 stitch at the beg of next 2-4-6-8-10-12 rows) (= 1-2-3-4-5-6 sts cast off on each side). At the same time continue pattern as before, ie from WS P over P and K over K and from RS repeat either row 1 (= P over K and K over P) or 3 (= K over K and P over P) in pattern. Hope this will help. Happy knitting!

Dit is niet bekend, maar hiervan zou je aan de hand van het oppervlak ongeveer een schatting kunnen maken.

Dec 1 st on neckline on next row (dec by working the 2 outermost sts tog) = 25 sts left on shoulder for all sizes. Bind off when piece measures 66-68-70-72-74-76 cm / 26''-26¾''-27½''-28 3/8''-29 1/8''-30''. FRONT PIECE: = 78-86-94-106-118-130 sts (Row 1 = WS). Continue in double seed st and bind off for armhole as described for back piece, AT THE SAME TIME after 4 rows of pattern (= 1 pattern repeat) bind off the middle 2 sts for neck from RS and complete each shoulder separately. Now bind off to shape the neckline by working 2 sts tog on neckline (work them tog to fit pattern) at the beg of every row from neck a total of 12-13-14-15-16-17 times. When all dec are complete there are 25 sts left on shoulder for all sizes. Bind off when piece measures 66-68-70-72-74-76 cm / 26''-26¾''-27½''-28 3/8''-29 1/8''-30''. SLEEVE: Worked in the round. When piece measures 4 cm / 1½'' K 1 round, AT THE SAME TIME dec 15-16-17-18-19-20 sts evenly (dec by working approx every 3rd and 4th st tog) = 48-50-52-54-56-58 sts. Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm / US 6 and insert a marker at beg of round. Continue in stockinette st. When piece measures 8 cm / 3 1/8'' inc 1 st each side of marker. Repeat the inc on every 4-3.5-3-2.5-2-2 cm / 1½''-1¼''-1 1/8''-7/8''-3/4''-3/4'' a total of 10-11-13-15-17-18 times = 68-72-78-84-90-94 sts. When piece measures 50-50-49-49-47-46 cm / 19 3/4"-19 3/4"-19 1/4"-19 1/4"-18½"-18" (NOTE! Less for the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulder) continue in double seed st on all sts, AT THE SAME TIME bind off 6 sts mid under sleeve (3 sts each side of marker). Now continue back and forth on needle. Continue to bind off for sleeve cap at beg of row each side as follows: 2 sts 3-3-4-4-4-3 times and 1 st 3-4-4-5-8-13 times, then bind off 2 sts each side until piece measures 57-58-58-59-59-60 cm / 22½''-22¾''-22¾''-23¼''-23¼''-23 5/8'', now bind off 3 sts 1 time each side. Bind off remaining sts. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. |
