Knitting tip: Use double or single thread. All numbers without ( ) refer to double thread, all numbers in ( ) refer to single thread. Garter st, in the round: K1 round, P 1 round. Increasing tip-1: Inc 1 st by working 2 sts in outermost st. Increasing tip-2: Inc 1 st by making 1 YO. Work YO into back of loop on return row to avoid a hole. Pattern: See diagram M.1 and M.2 (M.3 and M.4). The diagram shows the pattern from the RS. ________________________________________________________________ Top: Knitted from top down. Beg with back piece, then work front piece, slip both pieces on the same circular needle and work lower body part and lace border. Back piece: Worked back and forth on needle: Left shoulder: Loosely cast on 11-11-11-12-12-13 (13-13-13-14-15-16) sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4 (3) mm [US 6 (US 2or3)] with double (single) thread Alpaca. Work stockinette st until piece measures 0.6"-0.6"-0.6"-0.9"-0.9"-0.9". On next row (from WS) inc 1 st towards neckline = 12-12-12-13-13-14 (14-14-14-15-16-17) sts. Slip sts on a thread. Right shoulder: Work like left shoulder, but mirrored, and without slipping sts on thread. On next row (from RS) cast on 38-40-42-44-46-48 (48-50-52-56-58-60) sts for neckline and slip sts from thread back on needle = 62-64-66-70-72-76 (76-78-80-86-90-94) sts. Piece now measures 0.75"- 0.75"- 0.75"-1.1"- 1.1"- 1.1". Back piece: Work stockinette st until piece measures 5.1"-4.7"-4.4"-4.7"-4.7"-4" (5.3"-5.1"-5.1"-5.1"-4.9"-4.7"). Now inc for armhole by casting on new sts at the end of every row – see Increasing tip-1: 1 st 3-5-6-5-4-7 (3-4-4-5-5-6) times and 2 sts 1-1-2-4-6-6 (2-3-5-6-8-10) times. Cast on 3 sts each side = 78-84-92-102-110-120 (96-104-114-126-138-152) sts. Piece now measures approx 6.7"-7"-7½"-8"-8.2"-8.7". Continue in stockinette st until piece measures 11.7"-12½"-13.4"-14.2"-15"-15.7". Bind off 1 st edge each side and slip the remaining 76-82-90-100-108-118 (94-102-112-124-136-150) sts on a thread. Front piece: Left shoulder: Loosely cast on 11-11-11-12-12-13 (13-13-13-14-15-16) sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4 (3) mm [US 6 (US 2or3)] with double (single) thread Alpaca. Work stockinette st until piece measures 4"-3½"-4"-4"-4.4"-4" (4.75" for all sizes) and now inc by casting on new sts for neckline on every other row – see Increasing tip-1: 1 st 5-6-6-5-5-6 (4-5-5-5-5-6) times and 2 sts 2-2-2-3-3-3 (3-3-3-4-4-4) times. At the same time when piece measures 5.1"-4.7"-4.4"-4.7"-4.7"-4" (5.3"-5.1"-5.1"-5.1"-4.9"-4.7") inc for armhole as described for back piece. Note! After the last inc for neckline slip sts on a thread (adjust so that last row is worked from WS). Right shoulder: Work like left shoulder, but mirrored. At the same time, after the last inc for neckline cast on 22-22-24-24-26-26 (30-30-32-32-34-34) sts for neckline and slip sts from thread back on needle. Front piece: Work stockinette st and inc for armhole as described for back piece. After all inc for neckline and armhole are complete = 78-84-92-102-110-120 (96-104-114-126-138-152) sts on needle. Piece now measures approx 6.7"-7"-7½"-8"-8.2"-8.7". Continue in stockinette st until piece measures 11.7"-12½"-13.4"-14.2"-15"-15.7". Bind off 1 edge st each side = 76-82-90-100-108-118 (94-102-112-124-136-150) sts left. Leave sts on needle. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seam inside 1 edge st before slipping all sts on circular needle. Lower part and lace border: Worked in the round on circular needle. Slip sts from back piece and front piece on the same circular needle size 3.5 (2.5) mm [US 4 (US 1)] = 152-164-180-200-216-236 (188-204-224-248-272-300) sts.
