JACKET Knitting gauge: 14 sts x 20 rows with 1 thread of each yarn quality on needle size 6 mm = US 10 = 10 x 10 cm = 4" x 4" Garter stitch: Knit all rows Back piece: Cast on 49-54-62-72-79 sts (inclusive of 1 edge st each side, edge sts are knitted in garter st throughout) on needle size 5 mm = US 8 with 1 thread of each yarn quality (= double thread). Knit 6-6-8-8-10 rows garter, change to needle size 6 mm = US 10 and continue in stockinette sts. At the same time when piece measures 3-3-4-5-6 cm = 1⅛"-1⅛"-1½"-2"-2⅜" inc 1 st each side on every 2.5-3.-3.5-4-4 cm = 1"-1⅛"-1¼"-1½"-1½" a total of 6-6-5-4-4 times = 61-66-72-80-87 sts. When piece measures 19-20-21-22-23 cm = 7½"-8"-8¼"-8¾"-9" dec for armhole each side on every other row as follows: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1-1-2-3-4 times and 1 st 1-2-2-3-4 times = 49-52-54-56-57 sts. When piece measures 36-38-40-42-44 cm = 14¼"-15"-15¾"-16½"-17¼", bind off the middle 11-12-12-14-15 sts for neck. Dec 1 st at neckline on next row = 18-19-20-20-20 sts left on each shoulder. Bind off when piece measures 38-40-42-44-46 cm = 15"-15¾"-16½"-17¼"-18". Right Front: Cast on 37-39-43-47-50 sts (inclusive of 1 edge st at side) on needle size 5 mm = US 8 with 1 thread of each yarn quality (= double thread).
