Knitting Gauge: 17sts x 21 rows in stockinette st on needles size 5 mm = US 8 = 10x10cm = 4" x 4". Pattern: See diagram (1 diagram = 1 repeat). Pattern is read from right to left, and is seen from RS. Ladies long version: Body: Cast on 20 sts more and inc 20 sts less after M.1. Work pattern as on short version but work an additional 4 cm = 1½" in cream, 3 cm = 1⅛" in light grey and 3 cm = 1⅛" in medium grey. Increase measurements for sleeve, neck and binding off edge by 10 cm = 4". Length= 70-74-78 cm = 27½"-29⅛"-30¾". Yarn requirement is increased by approx 50 g of each color. Back and Front knitted as one piece in the round, then divided at armhole and back and front knitted separately. Body: Cast on 190-190-200 (200-210) sts on long circular needle size 3.5mm = US 4 with cream. Work 7 cm = 2¾" M.1. Change to circ needle size 5mm = US 8 and work 1 round stockinette st and at the same time inc 60-74-74 (60-64) sts evenly on first round = 250-264-274 (264-274) sts. Continue as follows on next round: *11-15-17 (15-17) sts stockinette st, M.2, 11 sts stockinette st, M.2, 11 st stockinette st, M.2, 11-14-17 (14-17) sts stockinette st*, repeat from * - * across sts for back. Remember to check your gauge. Back: = 123-130-133 (130-135) sts. Work pattern and dec for armholes as on front = 119-126-125 (126-131) sts. Continue until piece measures 58-62-66 (62-66) cm = 22¾"-24⅜"-26" (24⅜"-26"). Bind off center 45-46-45 (46-45) sts for neck. Next row: dec 2 sts each side at neck edge. Continue until piece measures 60-64-68(64-68) cm = 23⅝"-25¼"-26¾" (25¼"-26¾"). Bind off. Sleeves: Cast on 50-50-50 (50-50) sts on short circ needle size 3.5mm = US 4 with cream. Work 7 cm = 2¾" M.1. Change to circ needle size 5mm = US 8 and work 1 round in stockinette st and at the same time inc 7-7-7 (7-5) sts evenly on first round = 55-55-55 (55-57) sts. Continue as follows on next round: 14-14-14 (14-15) sts stockinette st, M.2, 14-14-14 (14-15) sts stockinette st. At the same time after M.1. inc underneath sleeve 2 sts 27-27-29 (29-28) times on Ladies S+M: alternatively every 3, 3, and 2nd round*, Ladies L: alternatively every 2nd and 3rd round*, Gents: every 3rd round = 109-109-113 (113-113). At the same time when piece measures 15-16-17 (16-17) cm = 6"-6¼"-6¾" (6¼"-6¾") work 15-16-17 (16-17) cm = 6"-6¼"-6¾" (6¼"-6¾") in light grey, then finish work in medium grey. Continue until piece measures 47-46-47 (51-51) cm = 18½"-18"-18½" (20"-20"). Bind off center 8 sts under arm, finishing each side separately knitting back and forth. Dec on each side on every other row as follows: 6 sts, 4 times. Piece measures approx 52-51-52 (56-56) cm = 20½"-20"-20½" (22"-22"). Bind off. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 130 sts around neck on short circ needle size 3,5mm = US 4 with light grey. Work 5 cm = 2" in M.1. Change to cream and work 6 rounds stockinette st. Bind off. Sew in sleeves. |
