Det bliver alt for småt. 17 m x12 p = 10x10. Kan jeg bruge Kid -Silk ? Hvis ikke , findes der en anden opskrift. Lig denne.

I understand the Vienna yarn is discontinued. What is the alternate yarn I can use?

Dear Jenny, Vienna belonged to yarn group D, so you may use Melody or work with 2 strands of Brushed Alpaca Silk or various strands of Drops Kid Silk. Happy knitting!

Hei!

Thank you for all the help so far. As you can tell from my Qs, I'm working my way through the pattern. Re the 3rd & 4th row of the collar - what do I do with the other 3 stitches that I don't knit in garter?
05.08.2019 - 20:54DROPS Design answered:
Hello S Cullen. On row 3 and 4 you don’t work all 10 sts, but only 7. On row 3, you work the first 7 sts and leave the other 3 sts on the left needle without working them, turn and work back on the 7 sts (row 4). Happy knitting!

Hi, I'm new to knitting, so I don't understand: 'lift 1st st mid front off at beg of row and knit it in garter at the end to make the edge even'. Can you please explain a bit more or is there a video of how to do this? Thanks!
01.08.2019 - 21:49DROPS Design answered:
Dear S Cullen, you don't work the first stitch, but simply pass the stitch on the right needle, and knit the last stitch on needle in garter stitch. When you turn the piece, do the same. Happy knitting!

Hi, the pattern says :'Continue in stocking, but knit the first and last 2 sts garter (for split).' But I don't know what split is being referred to? Why is a split needed / what is it for please? How is the split formed? Thank you
27.07.2019 - 20:39DROPS Design answered:
Dear Ms. Cullen, split is at the bottom of both sides and allow the garment to open a bit at the hips. See chart - there is small link at every side, it shows where split start. Split isnt special formed and if you dont want to make it, just continue as before till the end of work (without garter sts). Happy knitting!

Gauge: 6 sts x 7 rows in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm Knitting tips (for neckband): All decs are made on right side rows. Dec 1 st inside of edge sts in garter st as follows: After the garter sts: Slip 1 as if to knit, K 1, psso. Before the garter sts: K 2 tog. Back: Cast on 30-32-35-37-40 sts with 2 strands Vienna, take away one strand and knit 2 rows garter st. Change to stockinette st, keeping 2 sts in garter st at each side for side split edge. When the piece measures 12 cm end split and cast on 1 new st at each side = 32-34-37-39-42 sts. Continue with stockinette st and 3 sts in garter st at each side for 4 more rows, then knit stockinette st over all sts to finished measurements. When the piece measures 20 cm dec 1 st at each side = 30-32-35-37-40 sts. When the piece measures 56-57-58-59-60 cm bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 0-0-1-1-1 time and 1 st 1-2-1-1-2 times = 22-22-23-25-26 sts. When the piece measures 74-76-78-80-82 cm bind off the center 4-4-5-5-6 sts for the neck. On the next row dec 1 st at each neck edge = 8-8-8-9-9 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 76-78-80-82-84 cm. Left front: Cast on 19-20-21-22-24 sts with 2 strands Vienna, take away one strand and knit 2 rows garter st. So that the center front edge will be neat, slip the first st of every row that begins at center front edge. Change to stockinette st, keeping 2 sts in garter st at the side edge and 4 sts in garter st at the center front edge for button band. When the piece measures 12 cm end side split and cast on 1 new sts at the side = 20-21-22-23-25 sts. Then knit 4 rows with 3 sts in garter st at the side (knit the remaining sts as before), then knit stockinette st over all sts (except the 4 buttonband sts in garter st) to finished measurements. When the piece measures 35 cm dec 1 st at the side = 19-20-21-22-24 sts. Read the entire section before knitting: Collar: When the piece measures 43 cm cast on 10 new sts at the center front edge for collar. Knit these 10 sts + 4 buttonband sts in garter st (continue to slip the first st on rows that begin at the collar). Neckband: When the piece measures 45 cm dec 1 st for the neck inside of the 14 sts in garter st every other row – see knitting tips: 7-7-7-7-8 times. Armhole: When the piece measures 56-57-58-59-60 cm bind off for armhole at the side as on back. After all armhole and neck shaping is complete 18-18-18-19-19 sts remain (= 8-8-8-9-9 shoulder sts + 10 collar sts). When the piece measures 76-78-80-82-84 cm bind off the 8-8-8-9-9 shoulder sts. Collar: Continue with garter st over the 10 sts as follows: * 2 rows garter st over all sts, 2 rows garter st over only the outermost 7 sts *, repeat from * - * until the collar measures approx. 5-5-6-6-6.5 cm on the short side (to fit to center back) and measures approx. 10-10-12-12-13 cm on the long side. Put sts on a st holder. Right front: Cast on and knit the same as the left reversing shaping. Sleeve: Cast on 16-17-18-19-20 sts with 2 strands Vienna, take away one strand, knit 6 rows garter st and change to stockinette st. When the piece measures 12 cm inc 1 st at each side every 11-10-9.5-7.5-7 cm a total of 4-4-4-5-5 times = 24-25-26-29-30 sts. When sleeve measures 47-45-44-44-43 cm bind off loosely for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, then dec 1 st at each side until the piece measures 54 cm, then bind off 3 sts 1 time at each side. Bind off the remaining sts, the piece measures approx. 56 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Weave the collar together at center back and sew collar to neckband with the seam on the right side. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance down to side split. Belt: Cast on 7 sts with 2 strands Vienna and knit garter st with double strands throughout. Bind off when belt measures approx. 120-150 cm. |
