As this is a D pattern, if I use A Flora & C Brushed Alpaca Silk, will this combination work for this pattern?
08.12.2024 - 13:36DROPS Design answered:
Dear JC, yes, it should be possible to work with 1 thread of Brushed Alpaca Silk and 1 thread of Flora together. Remember to first work a gauge to check that this yarn combination can match the pattern's gauge. Happy knitting!

2 things - its not our printer setiing because everything else prints fine. And 2, Ive just spotted a design thats very similar that was published 4 years earlier....Im really pleased with my sweater having adapted the pattern for different yarn, and therefore needle size, and added an elevation at the back, but Im quite saddened to realise it looks like the design youve got here was taken from a small business.

Please could you put a margin down the left hand side of the printer version. Because there isn't one the first 4 letters of every line wouldn't print. Thankfully, my husband was able to save it, change it, then print it properly for me! But a margin would prevent this problem, and also be helpful for anyone who wants to keep the pattern in a ringbinder. Thank you.

Dear Helen, this might come from your printers settings, make sure they are right, this should help. For us, it prints with margins. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Hi, When I’m doing yarn over after the A1 pattern, is it ok if all the yarn over slanted to the left? Or I do have to follow the raglan way of increase? Thanks.
11.06.2022 - 23:05DROPS Design answered:
Dear Kamila, the yarn overs in the diagrams are worked twisted, ie in the back loop of stitch to avoid holes. Happy knitting!

Could I make the same with a b group yarn ((similar to drops lima) by doubling all the numbers? Using 4,5 needles? I am trying to adapt to what I have since I love the look

Dear Flu, since your tension would be completely different, you should rather check patterns worked with a yarn group B (see a selection here that could inspire you). Happy knitting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. Choose diagram for your size. INCREASE TIP (yoke): Work until there is 1 stitch left before the marker, 1 yarn over, knit 2 (marker sits between these 2 stitches), 1 yarn over. Increase like this at each marker (2 stitches increased at each marker = 8 stitches in total). On the next round work the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on either side of the marker as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- SWEATER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, top down. The yoke is divided for the body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round with circular needle. The sleeves are worked in the round with double pointed needles. NECK: Cast on 72-72-76-76-80-84 stitches with circular needle size 6 MM = US 10 and DROPS Melody. Knit 1 round. Change to circular needle size 5 MM = US 8. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 8 cm = 3⅛" Change to circular needle size 6 MM = US 10. Insert 1 marker at the beginning of the round; the yoke is measured from this marker! YOKE: Work A.1 over all stitches; There should be 2½ cm = 1" between each increase in A.1. If your knitting gauge is not correct in height, you can work more/less rounds (work knit over knit and purl over purl) between each increase. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE! When A.1 has been completed in height there are 162-162-171-190-200-210 stitches. Continue with knit over knit and purl over purl until the yoke measures 11-11-11-14-14-14 cm = 4⅜"-4⅜"-4⅜"-5½"-5½"-5½" from the marker. Insert 4 markers without working the stitches as follows: Count 27-27-29-31-33-35 stitches, insert 1 marker, count 27-26-28-32-34-34 stitches, insert 1 marker, count 54-55-57-63-66-71 stitches, insert 1 marker, count 27-26-28-32-34-34 stitches, insert 1 marker, there are 27-28-29-32-33-36 stitches left after the last marker. Continue with stockinette stitch and, on the next round, increase by making 1 yarn over on each side of each marker – read INCREASE TIP! Increase like this every 2nd round a total of 5-7-8-8-10-11 times = 202-218-235-254-280-298 stitches. Continue with stockinette stitch until the yoke measures 21-22-23-25-27-29 cm = 8¼"-8¾"-9"-9¾"-10⅝"-11⅜" from the marker on the neck. Now divide for the body and sleeves as follows: Knit 32-34-37-39-43-46, place the next 37-40-44-48-54-56 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches under the sleeve, knit 64-69-73-79-86-93, place the next 37-40-44-48-54-56 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches under the sleeve and knit the last 32-35-37-40-43-47 stitches. BODY: = 140-150-159-174-188-202 stitches. Continue in the round with stockinette stitch until piece measures 25-26-27-27-27-28 cm = 9¾"-10¼"-10⅝"-10⅝"-10⅝"-11" from division. On the next round increase 12-14-13-18-16-18 stitches = 152-164-172-192-204-220 stitches. Change to circular needle size 5 MM = US 8 and work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 6 cm = 2⅜". Bind off with knit. The sweater measures approx. 56-58-60-62-64-67 cm = 22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼"-26⅜", from the shoulder down. SLEEVES: Place the 37-40-44-48-54-56 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on double pointed needles size 6 MM = US 10 and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 43-46-50-56-62-64 stitches. Insert a marker in the middle of the new 6-6-6-8-8-8 mailles stitches under the sleeve. Work stockinette stitch in the round with for 4 cm = 1½". Now decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 16-10-7-4-3-2 cm = 6¼"-4"-2¾"-1½"-1⅛"-¾" a total of 2-3-4-7-9-10 times = 39-40-42-42-44-44 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 34-34-34-33-31-29 cm = 13⅜"-13⅜"-13⅜"-13"-12¼"-11⅜" from the division. Knit 1 round where you increase 9-8-10-10-12-12 stitches evenly spaced = 48-48-52-52-56-56 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 5 MM = US 8 and work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 5 cm = 2". Bind off with knit. Work the other sleeve in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Fold the neck double to the inside and sew down. To avoid the neck being tight and rolling outwards, it is important that the seam is elastic. |
