------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- CROCHET INFORMATION: The first single crochet on the round is replaced by 1 chain stitch. The round finishes with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch at the beginning of the round. When changing colors on the next round, it is a good idea to change the strand before working the last slip stitch – the stripes will then be neater. NOTE! Do not cut the strand after changing colors, but allow it to follow your work onwards on the inside of the hat. STRIPES: The chain-stitch ring and round 1 are worked with ice blue, then stripes are worked as follows: * 1 round ice blue, 1 round spray blue, 1 round beige, 1 round off-white, 1 round sage green, 2 rounds off-white *, work from *-* onwards. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Work 4 chain stitches with hook size 4.5 MM = US 7 and ice blue and form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Read CROCHET INFORMATION. ROUND 1: Work 6 single crochets around the ring with ice blue. Now work STRIPES – read description above. ROUND 2: Work 2 single crochets in each single crochet = 12 stitches. ROUND 3: * 1 single crochet in the first/next stitch, 2 single crochets in the next stitch *, work from *-* to end of round = 18 stitches.
