How to start a sock with a flounce

In this DROPS video we show how to start a sock with a flounce, like the “Dainty Duo” socks in DROPS 229-19. We cast on with 2 strands, but continue with 1 strand. Then we knit 4 rounds and on the next round we knit all stitches together 2 by 2. Then we work a rib (knit 1 twisted/purl 1). These socks are worked in DROPS Fabel, but in the video, we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. You must read a pattern with this technique to be able to follow this video properly. You’ll find a pattern by clicking on the picture below.

Felted Slippers crochet edge

In this video we show a slipper knitted in DROPS Polaris before and after felting. Place the slippers in the washing machine with a detergent without enzymes and optical bleach. Wash warm at 40C/104F with normal spin but no pre-wash. After wash shape the slippers into the right size while still wet and leave to dry flat. If the slippers are too small, put them in water until they are thoroughly wet, and then stretch to right size. At subsequent wash, wash the slippers at regular wool program. Socks with displacement and rib.

This video shows how to get the rib on the left sock to twist to the right. Insert 1 marker in a K (knit) stitch in each side of the sock according to the pattern. At the first st with marker dec on every round by slipping the K st , K the next st and pass the slipped stitch over. Continue rib with K over K and P over P until you get to the next marker in the other side. Now make a yo before the K st, and repeat on every round. On next round K YO twisted (i.e. work in the back loop of st) and make a new yo right before the K st with marker. We work several rounds to show the procedure and finally we show how it looks when you have worked about 20 rounds. In the pattern there are more sts on the sock than what we show in the video and therefore more stitches between the 2 markers. How to knit and assembly a slippers

In this DROPS video we show how to knit and assembly the slippers as made in for example DROPS Extra 0-1247. In the video we knit size 35/37 = US 4 1/2-6 1/2, but we do not knit the chart.
