How to crochet an easy lace pattern

In this DROPS video we show how to crochet an easy lace pattern for a bookmark or a head band. Row 1: Work 4 ch, in the 4th ch from hook work: 3 tr, 5 ch, 3 tr. Row 2: 3 ch, turn piece, in 3rd ch from hook work: 3 tr, 5 ch, 3 tr, then 1 sl st in ch-loop from previous row. Repeat 2nd row to the length you want. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. How to crochet a relief pattern (aka raised crochet)

In this DROPS video we show how to crochet a relief pattern (aka raised crochet). You can create a relief texture on a crochet piece by working in the front and back post of a stitch. In this video we are crocheting every other stitch as a normal tr, and every other st as a relief tr. Start with a row of regular tr. On next row we are working "1 tr, 1 relief tr in front post", on 3rd row we are working the relief sts in the back post. This creates a rib texture on the right side. How to crochet a texture cable

In this DROPS video we show how to crochet a texture pattern that is forms like a cable, used in the Blushing Embers jumper in DROPS 206-33. First we easy show how to crochet a chain stitch rings with 8 chain stitches and 1 slip stitch, that later will be put together to a cable. We work treble crochet between the chain stitch rings. Then we show how to crochet the chain stitch rings together so it becomes a cable. At the end we show how to work the cables with a slip stitch so it fastened to the round with treble crochet. How to crochet a fan edge

In this DROPS video we show how to crochet a cute and decorating fan edge. This edge can be added on a crochet piece, or on a knitted piece, or you can crochet and sew it on to a piece of fabric, like a towel. How to crochet a simple, but nice edge with Buttonhole stitches

In this DROPS video we show how to crochet a simple, but nice edge with buttonhole stitches. Crochet the edge with a different color. We have already crocheted a swap with double crochet and started with 3 double crochet with the new color. * Insert the hook into the stitch in the row right below, yarn over and pull it through, slightly loose. Insert the hook through the next stitch, but 2 rows below, yarn over and pull it through, slightly loose. Insert the hook into the next stitch in the row below, yarn over and pull it through, slightly loose = 4 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull the thread through all 4 loops = a group of buttonholes stitches. Work 1 double crochet in the next stitch (the stitch above the last worked stitch), work 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches *. Repeat *-*. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video.

How to get straight edges when crocheting

In this DROPS video we show how to avoid getting a wavy edge and small gaps in the edges. We often use 3 chain stitches at the beginning of each row when working treble crochet back and forth to get the same height as a treble crochet. These chain stitch can either be in addition to the treble crochets on the row (this creates extra stitches and the edge becomes wavy) or the chain stitches counts as a treble crochet (this will create a hole on every other row). This can be avoided by pulling out the 1st stitch on the row, holding this stitch firmly with your finger, moving the hook towards you and then under the long first stitch, insert the needle into the first stitch (on the 1st row work the needle under 2 threads), get the thread and work a regular treble crochet. This stitch will be slightly loose, but on the next row it will be fine. Work like this in every row. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in this video.

How to crochet around a thin steel wire

In this DROPS video we show how to crochet the last round of a hat where you also crochet around a thin steel wire. The brim will becomes a bit stiffer. Chooses whether you wants to use single or double steel wire. In this video we work with double crochet around with a double steel wire. Twist the steel wire ends together a few times and put them at the edge. Fasten with the thread end while sewing over the steel wire ends so that they do not appear. How to crochet slip stitch around double crochet stitches

In this DROPS video, we show how we crochet slip stitches around double crochet stitches, so that a nice thick edge is formed. To emphasize the edge and give it a little weight, we crochet this round with double thread, while the rest of the work has been crocheted with 1 thread.
