How to crochet IN and AROUND a stitch

In this DROPS video we show the difference between crochet IN a stitch and AROUND a stitch, as it is done in many of our patterns, for example DROPS 162-15. We have already crocheted a bit of a chart.

In the first row we show how to crochet 1 double crochet (dc) AROUND the ch-loop and then 9 treble crochet (tr) AROUND the next ch-loop. In the last stitch on the row we crochet 1 tr IN a stitch.

In the 2nd row, we show how we crochet dc IN the stitches and 1 dc AROUND a ch-loop.

You must read the pattern to be able to follow. You’ll find patterns using these techniques by clicking on the picture below.

Please note that the text in the chart is written in US terms.

Bonjour Mme Bentzinger, cette vidéo montre comment crocheter (sur la base du diagramme de ce modèle une maille serrée ou bride autour d'une maille ou bien dans une maille, c'est-à-dire comme la légende du diagramme l'indique. Bon crochet!

Liebe Jasmin, 1 dc (US-Wörter)/tr (UK-Wörter) ist 1 Stäbchen (= 1 Umschlag) aber 1 tr (US-Wörter)/dtr (UK-Wörter) ist 1 Doppelstäbchen (= 2 Umschläge) - siehe Wortliste hier, hdc (US) = htr (UK) = hStb. Viel Spaß beim häkeln!

Hej! Vad bra att du fått hjälp av filmerna. Jo, det är så att man läser diagrammet från höger till vänster då man stickar från rätsidan och från vänster till höger då man stickar tillbaka från avigsidan (ifall inget annat nämns i mönstret). Detta gäller alltså då man stickar fram och tillbaka. Stickar man runt läses diagrammet alltid från höger till vänster.

In this DROPS video we show how you can crochet round and round without finishing each round. We have already crocheted a chain stitches row and start the video how to form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Then work 2 chain stitches (replacing the first half-treble crochet), 1 half-treble crochet in each of the remaining chain stitches, 2 half-treble crochets around the 2 chain stitches at the beginning of the round. Insert 1 marker-thread at the beginning of the round to show where it begins and work round and round without finishing each round. On round 2 work the first treble crochet in the 2nd chain stitch from the beginning of first round, then work 1 treble crochet in each half-treble crochet. This round is not finished in the usual way, the first treble crochet in next round is worked in the first treble crochet from previous round.
