Keywords: cable, jumper, texture,

In this DROPS video we show how to crochet a texture pattern that is forms like a cable, used in the Blushing Embers jumper in DROPS 206-33.

First we easy show how to crochet a chain stitch rings with 8 chain stitches and 1 slip stitch, that later will be put together to a cable. We work treble crochet between the chain stitch rings.
Then we show how to crochet the chain stitch rings together so it becomes a cable. At the end we show how to work the cables with a slip stitch so it fastened to the round with treble crochet.

The jumper in DROPS 206-33 is crocheted in DROPS Air, but in the video we use a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow.

You must read a pattern (and look at a chart) to be able to follow this video properly. You’ll find the pattern to DROPS 206-33 by clicking on the picture below.

I am doing the breaking free pillow. On the second row when you begin the chain loops do you skip the the double crochet every time you make a loop? That's what it looks like in the video but then the first row has a big hole hole under the loop. To me it looks like once you link the loops together at the end the holes will be covered but the first chain loop still has a hole. What am I doing wrong? The video doesn't show how you did the very first row with the loops but I see no hole on yours

DROPS Design answered:

Dear Mrs Brouwer, in this pattern, you don't skip one stitch when working the ring of chains for the loop cable, you just work the chain-stitch loop between 2 stitches. Happy crocheting!

The pattern is very difficult to follow. It does not give clear instructions. The video would be more helpful if it started from the row after the chain loops. You really can't see the work well because her hand covers alot
