Is it possible to use Drops Nepal yarn with a 3.5mm needles? Or would you recommend to use a slightly bigger needle for Nepal yarn?
15.03.2024 - 12:14DROPS Design answered:
Dear Ceci, this top should be worked in a yarn group B as Nepal belongs to yarn group C, use the yarn converter to see the possible alternative as well as the new yarn amount for each yarn. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Can this be converted to work in the circular needs without a seam until you have to shape the yoke?
17.03.2021 - 00:22DROPS Design answered:
Dear Hyon-Jung Kim, please understand, that we cannot modify our patterns for each indivisual request. The garnment is made in pieces for a reason- it opnes on the sides with buttons. If you do decide to go ahead, and modify, you will need to take out the sttches for the button band, and the edge stitches, and recalculate from there. Happy Knitting.

For the front, what exactly is meant by “Bind off for armhole as on back UNTIL NECK SHAPING OVERLAPS”. I have never encountered an instruction like this.
15.08.2020 - 05:16DROPS Design answered:
Dear Catherine, this means you cast off for armhole as you made/as written for back piece - these cast off will not been finished as you will have to cast off for neck on front piece, ie continue cast off/decreases for armhole, and when piece measures 47-49-51-53 cm start to shape neck - and continue armholes as before at the same time. Happy knitting!

18.03.2020 - 20:57DROPS Design answered:
Liebe Ria, es sind hier ja Reihen als Nadeln gemeint - Anleitung wird so angepasst. Viel Spaß beim stricken!

Yes i know which yarn, but it does not say how MANY metres or yards for size small.
04.03.2019 - 12:55DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sandi, just calculate from the amount of yarn required: 150 g in Size S divided by 50 g a ball DROPS Tynn Cotton Chenille = approx. 120 m a ball. 3 balls x 120 m. :) Happy knitting!

Gauge: 18 sts x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm on larger needles in stockinette st. Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows. Knitting tips for decreasing: All decs are made on right side rows. Dec 1 st inside 3 sts in garter st at each side as follows: After 3 sts: Slip 1 as if to knit, K 1, psso. Before 3 sts: K 2 tog. Increasing tips: All increases are made on right side rows. Inc in 4th st from each side by pulling up a st from previous row and knit in stockinette st. Back: Cast on 72-80-87-94 sts on smaller needles. Knit 4 rows garter st, change to larger needles and stockinette st keeping 3 sts in garter st at each side. At the same time when the piece measures 4 cm dec 1 st at each side - see knitting tips: every 2-2.5-3-3.5 cm a total of 4-4-3-3 times = 64-72-81-88 sts. When the piece measures 13-14-15-16 cm inc 1 st at each side - see increasing tips: every 3-3-4-4 cm a total of 6-6-5-5 times = 76-84-91-98 sts. When the piece measures 32-33-34-35 cm knit 4 rows garter st over 6-7-8-9 sts at each side (knit the remaining sts in stockinette st), on the next row bind off 3-4-5-6 sts at each side for armhole = 70-76-81-86 sts. Now dec 1 st for armhole at each side - see knitting tips: every other row 19-21-23-24 times then every 4 rows 2 times = 28-30-31-34 sts remain on needles. Bind off these sts when the piece measures 50-52-54-56 cm. Front: Cast on and knit the same as the back. Bind off for armhole as on back until neck shaping overlaps. At the same time when the piece measures 47-49-51-53 cm bind off the center 16-18-19-22 sts for the neck. Then bind off at each neck edge every other row: 2 sts 1 time and then 1 st until all sts have been bound off. The piece measures approx. 50-52-54-56 cm. Neckband: Cast on 8 sts on smaller needles. Knit garter st for approx. 42-46 cm - measure around your own neck so that it will not be too small, bind off. Sew to neck - sew from right side. The opening should be centered on the left shoulder and there should be 6-7 cm for every shoulder between front and back. Buttonhole loops: Crochet loops along left side on front as follows: start at the top with 1 sc, * ch 3, fasten with 1 sc 1 cm lower, sl st for 3 cm *, repeat from * - * until there are 7 buttonhole loops, fasten off. Make 2 buttonhole loops on left side of neckband. Sew on buttons. Sew right side seam, leaving 7-10 cm open at lower edge for slit (measure from bottom button on left side so that slit will be the same length on both sides). |
