In the pattern where it says to work garter over 12 stitches in each side, 6 on each side of the marker, do you keep the stockinette pattern in the marker stitch?
15.09.2019 - 23:57DROPS Design answered:
Hi Wendy, The garter stitches are over the 6 stitches on the bands - so each end of each row. The marker threads mark the sides of the body and here you work stocking stitch over all stitches. Happy knitting!

Herzlichen Dank.

Liebe Marion, die Raglanabnahmen werden immer von der Vorderseite gemacht = in jeder 2. Reihe. (= 1 Reihe mit Abnahmen, 1 Reihe ohne Abnahmen, Muster gleichzeitig stricken). Viel Spaß beim stricken!

I have a question about the Pattern. Specifically, "Row 4: K." Yet, in your DROPS 138-8 Summer Violet Top with a similar pattern, it says "Round 4: P." Obviously it is easy to test the pattern either way, but simpler to just ask for clarification.
29.12.2013 - 03:15DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sir Napsalot, this jacket is worked back and forth, the top 138-8 is worked in the round, so that Round 4 should be K from WS (138-9) and P from RS (138-8). Happy knitting!

Bon tricot !

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. PATTERN: Row 1: * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from *-*. Row 2: K over K and P over P. Row 3: K. Row 4: K. BUTTON HOLES: Bind off for button holes on right band. 1 button hole = K tog third and fourth st from mid front and make 1 YO. Bind off for button holes when piece measures: SIZE S: 36, 41 and 46 cm / 14¼", 16⅛" and 18". SIZE M: 37, 42 and 48 cm / 14½", 16½" and 19". SIZE L: 38, 44 and 50 cm / 15", 17¼" and 19¾". SIZE XL: 38, 44 and 51 cm / 15", 17¼" and 20". SIZE XXL: 39, 46 and 53 cm / 15¼", 18" and 21". SIZE XXXL: 39, 47 and 55 cm / 15¼", 18½" and 21⅝". DECREASE TIP: Dec as follows from RS: Beg 2 sts before st with marker: K 2 tog, K 1 (marker is in this st), slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso. KNITTING TIP: If knitting gauge is incorrect in height and the knitting is too tight, the raglan dec will be too short and the armholes too small. This can be adjusted by working 1 extra row without dec evenly spaced between dec. -------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------- JACKET: Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Cast on 147-161-177-193-211-233 sts (includes 6 band sts in each side) on circular needle size 5 mm / US 8. Work 4 rows in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Continue in stockinette st with 6 sts in garter st in each side. The 6 sts in garter st in each side = bands. Work bands in garter st until finished measurements. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! Insert 2 markers in the piece; 39-43-47-51-55-61 sts in from each side (back piece = 69-75-83-91-101-111 sts). When piece measures 8 cm / 3⅛", dec 1 st on each side of markers, repeat dec when piece measures 12 cm / 4¾" - Read DECREASE TIP = 139-153-169-185-203-225 sts. When piece measures 18 cm / 7", inc 1 st on each side of marker, repeat inc when piece measures 24-25-26-27-28-29 cm / 9½"-9¾"-10¼"-10⅝"-11"-11⅜" = 147-161-177-193-211-233 sts. When piece measures 32-33-34-34-35-35 cm / 12½"-13"-13⅜"-13⅜"-13¾"-13¾" (on a row from RS), work in garter st over 12 sts in each side (= 6 sts on each side of marker in each side), work the remaining sts as before. When 5 rows in garter st have been worked over the 12 sts in each side, bind off the middle 8 sts of these sts for armholes on next row from WS (bind off with K from WS) = 131-145-161-177-195-217 sts. Now piece measures approx. 34-35-36-36-37-37 cm / 13⅜"-13¾"-14¼"-14¼"-14½"-14½". YOKE: Work 1st row from RS as follows: Work over right front piece as before, cast on 41-45-49-53-55-59 new sts over the armhole, work in stockinette st over back piece, cast on 41-45-49-53-55-59 new sts over the other armhole, work over left front piece as before = 213-235-259-283-305-335 sts. K 3 rows over all sts. Insert a marker in the first and last st of the new sts in each side for sleeve (= 4 markers). READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING! Now work as follows from RS: 6 sts in garter st, PATTERN – see explanation above - over the next 29-33-37-41-45-51 sts, 1 st in stockinette st (st with marker), pattern over the next 39-43-47-51-53-57 sts, 1 st in stockinette st (st with marker), pattern over the next 61-67-75-83-93-103 sts, 1 st in stockinette st (st with marker), pattern over the next 39-43-47-51-53-57 sts, 1 st in stockinette st (st with marker), pattern over the next 29-33-37-41-45-51 sts, 6 sts in garter st. Work 1 row with the same pattern. On next row from RS dec for raglan in each of the 4 transitions between body and sleeves (i.e. 8 dec per dec-row) - READ DECREASE TIP AND KNITTING TIP! Repeat dec on every 4th row a total of 3-2-0-0-0-0 times, and on every other row a total of 8-11-15-16-17-19 times. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 36-37-38-38-39-39 cm / 14½"-14½"-15"-15"-15¼"-15¼", bind off for button holes - see explanation above. After all dec are done, 125-131-139-155-169-183 sts remain on needle. K 4 rows in garter st while AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row dec 0-0-3-7-13-17 sts evenly = 125-131-136-148-156-166 sts. Bind off. Sew the buttons on to left front piece. |
