Bind off all sts when the work measures 33-35-39 (41-45-48) cm = 13¾"-15¼" (16⅛"-17¾"-19") and at the same time on the next to last row dec 1 st across Pattern 3 (all sizes) and 2 sts evenly distributed over Pattern 1 on the 3 largest sizes. Pick up approx. 65-70-80 (85-95-100) sts along the left front on smaller needles and knit 2 rows garter st, then 2.5 cm = 1" rib, then 2 rows garter st, bind off. Repeat along the right front, but after 1 cm = ⅜" make 5-6-6 (6-7-7) buttonholes evenly distributed on the row, making the top buttonhole as high up as possible (if necessary, make one less buttonhole on the buttonband and make a buttonhole in the neck band after the first row). (1 buttonhole = bind off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts over the bound off sts on the next row.) Pick up approx. 120-150 sts around the neck on smaller needles and knit rib for 2.5 cm = 1", bind off. Sew on sleeves and buttons. |
