Bon tricot!

Pattern: The jacket is worked in stockinette st with pattern sloping towards bottom edge of front pieces, worked separately from side to side. Pattern right front piece: Pick up sts on circular needle size 6.5 MM = US 10.5, cut thread, slip sts back on needle and work first row from the RS. Row 1, RS: K1, P1, * 1 YO, K1, P1*. Row 2, WS: * K1, P2 tog, 1 YO *, K1, P1. Row 3: K1, P1, * 1 YO, K2 tog, P1 *. Repeat row 2 and 3. Left front piece: Row 1, WS: K1, P1, *1 YO, K1, P1 *. Row 2, RS: K1, P1, * slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso, 1 YO, P1 *. Row 3: * K1, 1 YO, P2 tog into back of loop *, K1, P1. Repeat row 2 and 3. Rib: * K1 into back of loop, P 1 *, repeat from *-*. Back piece: Cast on 66 sts on needle size 3 MM = US 2.5 and work 11 cm = 4⅜" rib. Change to needle size 6.5 MM = US 10.5 and continue in stockinette st, at the same time inc 9 sts evenly on first row = 75 sts. Remember the knitting gauge! When piece measures 33 cm = 13" bind off for armhole each side on every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 1 time = 61 sts. When piece measures 60 cm = 23⅝" slip the middle 30 sts on a stitch holder for neck and complete each side separately. Bind off remaining 16 sts on shoulder when piece measures 62 cm = 24⅜". Right front piece: Cast on 33 sts on needle size 3 MM = US 2.5 and work 11 cm = 4⅜" rib, at the same time when rib measures 3.5 cm = 1¼" bind off 1 st on the right side of piece (towards mid front) on every and every other row alternately 14 times = 19 sts left on needle. Change to needle size 6.5 MM = US 10.5 and continue in stockinette st, at the same time inc 4 sts evenly on first row = 23 sts. When piece measures 33 cm = 13" bind off for armhole at the side as described for back piece. Bind off remaining 16 sts on shoulder when piece measures 62 cm = 24⅜". Left front piece: Like right front piece but mirrored. Sleeve: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 36 sts on needle size 3 MM = US 2.5 and work 10 cm = 4" rib. Change to needle size 6.5 MM = US 10.5 and continue in stockinette st, at the same time inc 6 sts evenly on first row = 42 sts. Now inc 1 st each side on every 3rd and 4th row alternately 20 times = 82 sts. When piece measures 50 cm = 19¾" bind off for sleeve cap each side at the beg of every row: 4 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 1 time. Bind off remaining 68 sts when sleeve measures 53.5 cm = 21⅛". Pattern borders: Pick up 54 sts along right front piece on needle size 6.5 MM = US 10.5 and work 9 cm = 3½" Pattern – see above – bind off and sew pattern piece to rib with small, neat sts. Repeat along left front piece. Assembly: Pick up 75 sts along left front piece on needle size 3 MM = US 2.5 and work 3 cm = 1⅛" rib, bind off. Repeat on right front piece, at the same time after 1 cm = ⅜" make 6 buttonholes evenly distributed. 1 buttonhole = bind off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts on return row. Place the bottom and top buttonholes 3 cm = 1⅛" from edges and the others evenly in between. Bind off after 3 cm = 1⅛". Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 50 sts round neckline (incl sts on stitch holder) on needle size 6.5 MM = US 10.5 and work 4 cm = 1½" stockinette st, bind off and fold edge double towards WS and fasten. Set in sleeves and sew side and sleeve seams inside 1 edge st. Sew on buttons. |
