Dear June, the armhole decreases are going like this: When piece measures 31-32-33-34-35 cm decrease for armholes in each side every 2nd row: 3 stitches 1 time, 2 stitches 0-1-2-3-4 times and 1 stitch 3-4-5-6-6 times = 75-77-79-81-85 stitches. Happy Knitting!

I have looked for the pattern instructions as Eleanor did but I still cannot find them labelled 'questions.' I am tempted to just knit the whole thing in moss stitch !!! I will make samples of course to get the tension tight and I realise it will change the texture.
13.06.2019 - 12:52DROPS Design answered:
Dear Christine, when you cast off for armholes on back piece, you have to cast off the number of sts given on each side, ie at the beg of RS row and at the beg of WS row, for ex. when you cast off 3 sts 1 time, you cast off 3 sts at the beg of next 2 rows starting from RS. On the front piece, you will cast off the sts for armhole on the armhole side (= just one time). Happy knitting!

Paula, I had the same problem It took my many days to look carefully at the pattern and in the instructions above the start of the back is a section called Patterns and there you will see the english listed for the symbols good luck

I think there is an error in the armhole decrease instructions. If you dec. 3sts and 2 sts every other row,you will only be decreasing on one side. Every other row will work for the dec 1's.

The translations for the Diagrams for all Garnstudio patterns are included within the text of the Pattern itself. If you look you will find lines starting with an = sign. These are the translations, and they are given in the same vertical order as the chart symbols within the diagram.

Seed Stitch (on an even number of sts): Row 1: * K 1, P 1 * Row 2: * P 1, K 1 * Repeat Rows 1-2. Buttonhole: Make buttonholes along right button band. 1 buttonhole = bind off the 3rd st from edge and on the next row yo over bound off st. Make buttonholes when the piece measures: Size S: 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 cm. Size M: 10, 16, 21, 26, 31 and 36 cm. Size L: 10, 15, 21, 26, 32 and 37 cm. Size XL: 10, 16, 21, 27, 32 and 38 cm. Size XXL: 10, 16, 22, 28, 34 and 39 cm. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Back: Cast on 87-95-103-111-119 sts on smaller needles with white. Knit 2 rows garter st, change to larger needles and stockinette st for 8-8-9-9-10 cm - on the last row dec 8 sts evenly distributed on the row = 79-87-95-103-111 sts. Continue as follows (right side row): K 1 (edge st), Pattern 1 - start at appropriate arrow on the chart - over 36-40-44-48-52 sts, then Pattern 2 (= 5 sts), Pattern 3 over 36-40-44-48-52 sts and K 1 (edge st). When the piece measures 14-14-15-15-16 cm inc 1 st at each side every 4 cm a total of 4 times = 87-95-103-111-119 sts - knit the increased sts in the pattern as you go along. When the piece measures 31-32-33-34-35 cm bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 0-1-2-3-4 times and 1 st 3-4-5-6-6 times = 75-77-79-81-85 sts. When the piece measures 48-50-52-54-56 cm bind off the center 29 sts for the neck - bind off with purl sts from right side so that there is 1 row of reverse stockinette st at the neckline. Then dec 1 st at each neck edge every other row 2 times = 21-22-23-24-26 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm. Left front: Cast on 46-50-54-58-62 sts on smaller needles with white. Knit 2 rows garter st, change to larger needles and stockinette st but keep 3 sts at the center front edge in seed st. When piece measures 9 cm dec 4 sts evenly distributed on the row, and at the same time cast on 4 new sts at the center front for button band = 46-50-54-58-62 sts. Continue as follows (right side row – begin at the side): K 1 (edge st), Pattern 5 over 41-45-49-53-57 sts - start at appropriate arrow on the chart, 4 seed st buttonband sts. When the piece measures 14-14-15-15-16 cm inc 1 st at the side every 4 cm a total of 4 times - knit the increased sts in the pattern as you go along = 50-54-58-62-66 sts. When the piece measures 31-32-33-34-35 cm bind off for armhole at the side as on back. At the same time when the piece measures approx. 34-35-36-37-38 cm - adjust to end after a complete repeat of Pattern 5 - knit and bind off for the neck following Pattern 6A (continue the pattern as before over the remaining sts) = 21-22-23-24-26 sts remain on shoulder. Continue with Pattern 6B (knit the remaining sts in the pattern as before). When the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm bind off all sts. Right front: Cast on and knit the same as the left but knit Pattern 7 instead of Pattern 5. Establish pattern as follows beginning from center front edge: 4 sts seed st, Pattern 7 over 41-45-49-53-57 sts, K 1 (edge st). Make 6 buttonholes along buttonband - see instructions above. Bind off for armhole as on left front. At the same time when the piece measures approx. 34-35-36-37-38 cm - adjust to match left front - knit and bind off for the neck following Pattern 8A (continue the pattern as before over the remaining sts) = 21-22-23-24-26 sts remain on shoulder. Continue with Pattern 8B (knit the remaining sts in the pattern as before). When the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm bind off all sts. Sleeve: Cast on 60-64-68-72-76 sts on smaller needles with white. Knit Pattern 4 (1st row = right side). Change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 3 cm inc 1 st at each side every 4-3-3-2-2 rows a total of 8 times = 76-80-84-88-92 sts. When sleeve measures 15-13-12-11-10 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2-4-4-4-3 times, 1 st 0-0-2-3-7 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 19-19-20-20-21 cm and then bind off 3 sts 1 time. The piece measures 20-20-21-21-22 cm, bind off. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance. Sew on buttons. Crocheted edge: Crochet with natural around neck and lower edge of the sleeve. Crochet in outermost sts as follows: 1 sc, * ch 3, skip over 1 st and fasten with 1 sc in the next st *, repeat from * - *. |
