Re: front piece, increases at 10 cm. Does "each side" mean you determine the place for the increases yourself? I did the previous increases (row 4) at 10 stitches in and 10 stitches before the end.

Dear Miguel, when you have to increase on each side, you should increase at the beginning + at the end of a row from right side = 2 sts increased on each of these increase rows. Happy knitting!

Gauge: 23 sts x 30 rows in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm Rib: * K 2, P 1 *, repeat * - *. Knitting tip: To prevent the armhole and neck from rolling, knit the outermost st in garter st after you begin armhole and neck shaping. Front: Loosely cast on 86-98-104-116-131 sts. P 1 row (wrong side), then knit 2 rows rib, keeping 1 st at each side in garter st. Change to stockinette st, increasing if needed to 88-98-106-118-132 sts on the 1st row. When the piece measures 10 cm inc 1 st at each side every 8-8-9-9-10 cm a total of 3 times = 94-104-112-124-138 sts. When the piece measures 36-37-38-39-40 cm bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1-2-3-4-5 times and 1 st 3-5-6-9-13 times = 70-72-74-76-78 sts. When the piece measures 40-42-43-44-46 cm bind off the center 22-22-24-24-26 sts for the neck. Then bind off at each neck edge every other row: 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 5 times = 13-14-14-15-15 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front. Bind off for armhole as on front = 70-72-74-76-78 sts. When the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm bind off the center 40-40-42-42-44 sts for the neck. Then dec 1 st at each neck edge every other row 2 times = 13-14-14-15-15 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams using edge sts as seam allowance. Edge: Crochet an edge around armholes and neck as follows: 1 sc in first st, * ch 3, skip over approx. 0.5 cm, 1 sc in the next st *, repeat * - * and finish with 1 sl st in 1st sc at start of row. Be sure your crochet gauge is not too tight or loose. Ribbon: Wrap ribbon around body twice and tie in back. Flower: Ch 4 with 2 strands Alpaca and join into a ring with 1 sl st. 1st row: * 1 sc in ring, ch 3 ,* repeat from * - * a total of 3 times and finish with 1 sl st in first sc at start of row = 3 ch-loops. 2nd row: Crochet in each ch-loop: 1 sl st, 5 dc and 1 sl st = 3 petals. Turn piece - crochet the next row from back side. 3rd row: ch 1, crochet 1 sc around the first sc from 1st row, ch 3, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 4th dc of first petal on 2nd row, then ch 3, 1 sc in lower edge of the 1st dc in second petal on 2nd row, then ch 3, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 5th dc in second petal on 2nd row, then ch 3, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 2nd dc in the 3rd petal on 2nd row, then ch 3 and finish with 1 sl st in the first ch at start of row = 5 ch-loops. Turn piece – crochet the next row from front side. 4th row: Crochet in each ch-loop: 1 sl st, 6 dc and 1 sl st = 5 petals. Turn piece – crochet the next row from back side. 5th row: ch 1, crochet 1 sc around first sc from 3rd row, ch 3, 1 sc in lower edge of the 5th dc in the first petal on 4th row, then ch 3, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 4th dc in second petal on 4th row, then ch 3, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 3rd dc in the third petal on 4th row, then ch 3, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 2nd dc in the 4th petal on 4th row, then ch 3, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 1st dc in the 5th petal on 4th row, then ch 3 and finish with 1 sl st in first ch at start of row = 6 ch-loops. Turn piece – crochet the next row from front side. 6th row: Crochet in each ch-loop: 1 sl st, 6 dc and 1 sl st = 6 petals. Turn piece – crochet the next row from back side. 7th row: ch 1, crochet 1 sc around first sc from 5th row, ch 4, 1 sc in the lower edge in the 4th dc of the 1st petal on the 6th row, then ch 4, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 3rd dc in the 2nd petal on the 6th row, then ch 4, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 1st dc in the 3rd petal on the 6th row, then ch 4, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 6th dc in the 3rd petal on the 6th row, then ch 4, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 5th dc of the 4th petal on the 6th row, then ch 4, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 3rd dc of the 5th petal on the 6th row, then ch 4, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 2nd dc of the 6th petal on the 6th row, then ch 4 and finish with 1 sl st in first ch at start of row = 8 ch-loops. Turn piece – crochet the next row from front side. 8th row: Crochet in each ch-loop: 1 sl st, 6 dc and 1 sl st = 8 petals. Cut yarn and fasten. Ribbon: Pull ribbon through 2 dc on back side of flower so that the flower sits securely on the ribbon. Tie ribbon around neck. |
