Hello! What size is the woman wearing in the photo?
28.10.2024 - 04:02DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Potter, most of the time our models are wearing either a size S or a size M, but as our body are all different, the best way to find the appropriate size is to measure a similar garment you have and like the shape then compare these to the one in the chart - read more here. Happy knitting!

Ivm patroon 235-31 : mijn proeflapje klopt : 16 steken tricotsteek geven 10 cm breedte.

When picking up stitches on neck edge for k2p2rib it says that number of stitches should be divisible by four. As there is an additional garter stitch at each end shouldnt this be divisible by 4 plus two extra stitches e.g. 70 stitches
06.03.2024 - 12:52DROPS Design answered:
Dear Susan, the number of sts should be divisible by 2 as there are 2 edge sts and rib should start but also end with K2, ie over 68 sts for example: 1 edge st, (K2, P2) x 16, K2, 1 edge st = 1+64+2+1=68 sts. Happy knitting!

Decrease 1 stitch for neck at the end of every row from right side 5-5-6-6-6-6 times in total = 30-32-32-34-37-40 stitches remain on shoulder. Work in stockinette stitch with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch in each side until piece measures 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm = 20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜". Bind off. SLEEVE: Cast on 54-54-54-58-58-62 stitches on circular needle size 4.5 MM = US 7 with 1 strand of each quality (2 strands). Purl 1 row from wrong side. Then work as follows from right side: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from*-* until 1 stitch remains, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. When rib measures 10 cm = 4", switch to circular needle size 5.5 MM = US 9. Knit 1 row from right side and decrease 4-4-2-4-4-6 stitches evenly = 50-50-52-54-54-56 stitches. Work in stockinette stitch with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch in each side. When piece measures 13-13-13-11-11-11 cm = 5⅛"-5⅛"-5⅛"-4⅜"-4⅜"-4⅜", increase 1 stitch in each side – read INCREASE TIP! Increase like this every 4½-3-3-3-2½-2 cm = 1⅝"-1⅛"-1⅛"-1⅛"-1"-¾" 8-10-10-11-12-13 times in total = 66-70-72-76-78-82 stitches. Continue to work until sleeve measures 46-45-44-43-41-39 cm = 18"-17¾"-17¼"-17"-16⅛"-15¼". Insert 1 marker in each side of sleeve - markers mark where bottom of armhole starts. Continue to work until sleeve measures 47-47-47-47-46-45 cm = 18½"-18½"-18½"-18½"-18"-17¾". Bind off. Knit another sleeve the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams inside bind-off edge. Sew in sleeves and sew bottom of armhole - markers inserted on sleeves should fit sides of body- see chart. Sew underarm and side seams in one inside 1 edge stitch. NECK EDGE: Pick up from right side approx. 68 to 88 stitches (including stitches on thread) on a circular needle size 4.5 MM = US 7 with 1 strand of each quality. Number of stitches must be divisible by 4. Work rib, begin from wrong side as follows: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* until 3 stitches remain, knit 2, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Bind off when rib measures 4 cm = 1½". RIGHT BAND: Work band bottom up towards the neck. Pick up stitches along right front piece, skip approx. 1½ to 2 meters in on thread and use yarn end to pick up stitches with (that way you can continue to work with the ball without cutting the yarn afterwards) as follows: Begin pick up at the bottom of front piece and pick up 1 stitch in every knitted row along the entire front piece inside 1 edge stitch, use circular needle size 5 MM = US 8 and 1 strand in each quality. Now continue piece at the end of row where ball is = at the bottom of front piece. Cast on 12 stitches for band as an exgauge of the stitches pick up at the bottom of front piece (cast on stitches from wrong side). Work band over the 12 stitches at the same time as band is knitted together with stitches picked up along the front piece as follows: ROW 1 (= right side): Slip first stitch on to right needle purlwise with strand in front of piece, * knit 1, slip 1 stitch on to right needle purlwise with strand in front of piece *, work from *-* until 1 stitch remains of the 12 band stitches, slip last stitch on to right needle knitwise, with strand behind piece, knit next stitch, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked, turn. ROW 2 (= wrong side): * Slip first/next stitch on to right needle purlwise with strand in front of piece, knit 1 *, work from *-* over all the 12 band stitches, turn. Repeat rows 1 and 2. Work BUTTONHOLES - read explanation above. When all stitches from front piece have been worked together with band, knit all stitches together 2 by 2 and bind off. LEFT BAND: Work band bottom up. Pick up stitches at the top on front piece, pick up 1 stitch in every knitted row down along the entire front piece inside 1 edge stitch, use circular needle size 5 MM = US 8 and 1 strand in each quality. After the pick up cast on 12 stitches for band (= at the bottom of front piece). Work band over the 12 stitches at the same time as band is knitted together with stitches picked up along the front piece as follows: ROW 1 (= wrong side): Knit 1, * slip 1 stitch on to right needle purlwise with strand in front of piece, knit 1 *, work from *-* until 1 stitch remains of the 12 band stitches, slip the next 2 stitches on to right needle purlwise with strand in front of piece, turn. ROW 2 (= right side): Knit 2 together, *, slip 1 stitch on to right needle purlwise with strand in front of piece, knit 1 *, work from *-* until 1 stitch remains, slip last stitch on to right needle purlwise with strand in front of piece, turn. Repeat rows 1 and 2. When all stitches from front piece have been worked together with band, knit all stitches together from right side as follows: Slip 1 stitch on to right needle knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch and bind off. ASSEMBLY: Sew the buttons on to left band. |
