Hi there, I love your patterns for jumpers but I am not used to using circular needles. Are all your patterns knitted with them. Thanks very much. April.

Dear April, most of our patterns are worked with circular needles for more comfortable knitting, but you can adapt them to straight needles. Here is a lesson on how to do this: https://www.garnstudio.com/lesson.php?id=13&cid=19 Happy knitting!

Omgang totalt 1 gang”.

Hei Dorte. Når du setter de 9 merketrådene i arbeidet har du 64 masker på pinnen. Sett 1. merketråd (MT) på begynnelsen av omgangen, hopp over 6 masker, sett 2. MT mellom 6. og 7. maske. Hopp over 8 masker og sett 3. MT mellom 14. og 15 maske. Sett 4. MT mellom 20. og 21. Sett 5. MT mellom 28. og 29. Sett 6. MT mellom 34. og 35. Sett 7. MT mellom 42. og 43. Sett 8. MT mellom 48. og 49. Sett 9. MT mellom 56. og 57. Håper det hjelper. mvh DROPS Design

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- INCREASE TIP (yoke): Increase alternately before and after marker threads, i.e. on the first increase-round make 1 yarn over after the 8 marker threads, on the second increase-round make 1 yarn over before the 8 marker threads and so on. On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on either side of the marker thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- SWEATER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, from mid back and top down. The yoke is divided for body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round with circular needle. The sleeves are worked with short circular needle/double pointed needles, top down. DOUBLE NECK: Cast on 52-56-56-60-60-64 stitches with short circular needle size 7 MM = US 10.75 and 1 strand of each quality (= 2 strands). Work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 17 cm = 6¾". The neck edge will be later folded double to get a neck edge of approx. 8 cm = 3½". Work 1 round of rib while decreasing 6-8-6-7-5-6 stitches evenly spaced = 46-48-50-53-55-58 stitches. Knit 1 round. YOKE: Change to circular needle size 9 MM = US 13. Knit 1 round and increase 6-8-10-11-13-14 stitches evenly = 52-56-60-64-68-72 stitches. Insert 1 marker, THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE! Insert 8-8-8-9-9-9 marker threads as follows: Insert a marker thread at the beginning of the round (mid-back), * skip 6-7-7-6-8-8 stitches, insert a marker thread before the next stitch, skip 7-7-8-8-7-8 stitches, insert a marker thread before the next stitch, *, repeat from *-* to the end of the round with 7-7-8-8-8-8 stitches left after the last marker thread. Work stockinette stitch, AT THE SAME TIME on the first round increase 1 stitch by each marker thread – read INCREASE TIP (= 8-8-8-9-9-9 stitches increased). Increase like this every 2nd round a total of 10-13-14-13-14-15 times, then every 4th round 2-1-1-1-1-1 times = 148-168-180-190-203-216 stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE! Work 1 round where you increase 4-0-4-4-7-10 stitches evenly spaced = 152-168-184-194-210-226 stitches. Continue working until the piece measures 21-22-23-24-25-26 cm = 8¼"-8¾"-9"-9½"-9¾"-10¼" from the marker. The next round is worked as follows: 22-24-26-28-31-34 stitches in stockinette stitch (half back piece), place the next 32-36-40-42-44-46 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches under the sleeve, work 44-48-52-55-61-67 stitches in stockinette stitch (front piece), place the next 32-36-40-42-44-46 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches under the sleeve, work the remaining 22-24-26-27-30-33 stitches in stockinette stitch (half back piece). THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE. BODY: = 100-108-116-126-138-150 stitches. Continue with stockinette stitch for 24-25-26-27-28-29 cm = 9½"-9¾"-10¼"-10⅝"-11"-11⅜". Change to circular needle size 7 MM = US 10.75. Knit 1 round and increase 20-20-24-22-26-30 stitches evenly spaced = 120-128-140-148-164-180 stitches. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 6 cm = 2⅜". Bind off with knit over knit and purl over purl. The sweater measures approx. 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm = 22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼"-26" from the shoulder down. SLEEVES: Place the 32-36-40-42-44-46 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on short circular needle/double pointed needles size 9 MM = US 13 and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 38-42-46-50-52-54 stitches. Insert a marker thread in the middle of the 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches under the sleeve. Continue in the round with stockinette stitch for 4 cm = 1½". Now decrease 2 stitches under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 5½-4-3½-3-3-2½ cm = 2⅛"-1½"-1¼"-1⅛"-1⅛"-1" a total of 4-5-6-6-7-7 times = 30-32-34-38-38-40 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 31-30-30-29-29-28 cm = 12¼"-11¾"-11¾"-11⅜"-11⅜"-11" from the division (there is approx. 12 cm = 4¾" left – work to desired length). Change to double pointed needles size 7 MM = US 10.75 and knit 1 round where you increase 10-8-10-6-10-8 stitches evenly spaced = 40-40-44-44-48-48 stitches. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 12 cm = 4¾". Bind off with knit over knit and purl over purl. The sleeve measures approx. 41-41-40-39-39-38. Work the other sleeve in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Fold the neck double to the inside and sew down. To avoid the neck being tight and rolling outwards, it is important that the seam is elastic. |
