Buon lavoro!

Switch to double pointed needles when needed. HAT: Cast on 48-52-56 stitches on circular needle size 7 mm = US 10,75 with 1 strand Air and 1 strand Brushed Alpaca Silk (= 2 strands). Now work pattern A.1 (= 12-13-14 repetitions of 4 stitches). After increase on first round there are 60-65-70 stitches on round. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE! When entire A.1 has been worked vertically, repeat the last 6 rounds vertically. When piece measures 15-16-17 cm = 6"-6¼"-6¾" – adjust so that that the last 6 rows in diagram are finished vertically (approx. 6 cm = 2⅜" remain until finished measurements), decrease 1 purl stitch in every section with purl by purling 2 stitches together (= 12-13-14 stitches decreased on round) = 48-52-56 stitches. Then work A.2 (= 4 stitches) over every repetition of A.1, but adjust so that the last 6 rounds in A.1 are finished vertically before beginning A.2. When entire A.2 has been worked, there are 36-39-42 stitches on round. Knit 0-1-0 stitches, knit stitches together 2 by 2 = 18-20-21 stitches. Cut the yarn, tighten together and fasten. Hat measures approx. 31-32-33 cm = 12¼"-12½"-13". Fold rib to form a folding edge that measures approx. 5 cm = 2". Now work A.4 over every repetition of A.3. When A.4 has been worked, there are 64-68-72 stitches on round. Bind off stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl. The neck warmer measures approx. 27-29-31 cm = 10⅝"-11⅜"-12¼" vertically. |
