Gauge: 18 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm on larger needles in stockinette st. Rib: * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from * - *. Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows. Knitting tips for decreasing (for neck shaping): Dec inside 5 button band sts as follows (all decs are made on right side rows): After 5 sts: Slip 1 as if to knit, K 1, psso. Before 5 sts: K 2 tog. ------------------------------------------------------------------ BACK Cast on 83-89-97-105 sts on smaller needles. Knit rib for 4 cm, beginning and ending right side row with K 1. Change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 6 cm dec 1 st at each side every 3 cm a total of 5 times = 73-79-87-95 sts. When the piece measures 23-24-25-26 cm inc 1 st at each side every 3 cm a total of 5 times = 83-89-97-105 sts. When the piece measures 38-39-40-41 cm bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 3 sts 0-0-1-1 time, 2 sts 1-2-2-3 times and 1 st 3-3-3-4 times = 65-67-69-71 sts. When the piece measures 55-57-59-61 cm knit rib over the center 27 sts for 2 cm (start and end on right side rows with P 1), keeping remaining sts in stockinette. Now bind off the center 17 sts for the neck = 24-25-26-27 sts remain on each shoulder. Continue with 5 sts in rib at each side of neck. Bind off when the piece measures 58-60-62-64 cm. LEFT FRONT Cast on 57-61-65-71 sts on smaller needles. Knit rib for 4 cm beginning and ending right side rows with K 1 and keeping the front edge st in garter st throughout. Change to larger needles and continue with stockinette st, keeping the 5 button band sts in rib (edge st in garter st). Read the entire next section before knitting: When the piece measures 6 cm dec 1 st at the side, repeat every 3 cm a total of 5 times. Neck shaping: At the same time when the piece measures 18 cm dec 1 st at the center front edge inside the 5 button band sts (see knitting tips) every 4 rows 24-25-25-27 times. At the same time when the piece measures 23-24-25-26 cm inc 1 st at the side edge every 3 cm a total of 5 times. Armhole shaping: At the same time when the piece measures 38-39-40-41 cm bind off for armhole at the side as on back. After all neck and armhole shaping is complete 24-25-26-27 sts remain on shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 58-60-62-64 cm. RIGHT FRONT Cast on and knit the same as the left side, reversing all shaping. SLEEVE Cast on 38-40-42-44 sts on smaller needles. Knit rib for 4 cm. Change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 5 cm inc 1 st at each side every 3-3-2.5-2.5 cm a total of 14-15-16-17 times = 66-70-74-78 sts. When sleeve measures 50-49-47-46 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2-2-1-1 times, 1 st 4-5-8-10 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 58 cm and then bind off 3 sts 1 time. The piece measures approx. 59 cm, bind off. ASSEMBLY Sew shoulder seams. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance. BELT Cast on 5 sts on smaller needles. Knit rib with 1 st in garter st at each side until belt measures approx. 130-150 cm, bind off. |
