Drops 123-3 sleeve.(small) Re: "continue to cast off for sleeve cap at beg of row each side". Please explain "cast off" at beg of row "each side"? Do I cast off 2sts at beg of next row? Then cast off 2sts at beg of following row? Or dec 2sts at each end of every row ( until 45sts). EG 4sts on row one, 4sts on row two (?)

Dear Wendy, cast off at the beg of next row on each side means at the beg of every row both from RS and from WS: cast off 2 sts at beg of row from RS and work to the end of row, cast off 2 sts at beg of row from WS and work to the end of row = you have cast off 2 sts on each side. Happy knitting!

Drops 123-3. The finished size of this jumper in Medium is 88cm. Is there any "ease" in this pattern?. My bust size is 88cm (34+1/2inch). Am not sure if I should knit Medium or Large (96cm)? Any indication if 88cm would be too "snug"? Thanks for so many lovely patterns to choose from. 2nd July 2015

Dear Wendy, compare the measurements in the chart with a similar garment you have and like the shape to find the matching size, depending on how tight/loose you rather want it to be, you can then adapt. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When piece measures 8 cm / 3⅛" dec 1 st each side of both markers. Repeat the dec on every 3.5 cm / 1¼" a total of 6 times = 160-176-192-216-240-264 sts. When piece measures 31 cm / 12¼" inc 1 st each side of both markers (inc with 1 YO, on next round K YO into back of loop). Repeat the inc when piece measures 41-42-43-44-45-46 cm / 16⅛"-16½"-17"-17¼"-17¾"-18" = 168-184-200-224-248-272 sts. Dec 1 st on neckline on next row (dec by working the 2 outermost sts tog) = 25 sts left on shoulder for all sizes. Bind off when piece measures 66-68-70-72-74-76 cm / 26"-26¾"-27½"-28⅜"-29⅛"-30". FRONT PIECE: = 78-86-94-106-118-130 sts (Row 1 = WS). Continue in double seed st and bind off for armhole as described for back piece, AT THE SAME TIME after 4 rows of pattern (= 1 pattern repeat) bind off the middle 2 sts for neck from RS and complete each shoulder separately. Now bind off to shape the neckline by working 2 sts tog on neckline (work them tog to fit pattern) at the beg of every row from neck a total of 12-13-14-15-16-17 times. Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm / US 6 and insert a marker at beg of round. Continue in stockinette st. When piece measures 8 cm / 3⅛" inc 1 st each side of marker. Repeat the inc on every 4-3.5-3-2.5-2-2 cm / 1½"-1¼"-1⅛"-⅞"-¾"-¾" a total of 10-11-13-15-17-18 times = 68-72-78-84-90-94 sts. When piece measures 50-50-49-49-47-46 cm / 19¾"-19¾"-19¼"-19¼"-18½"-18" (NOTE! Less for the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulder) continue in double seed st on all sts, AT THE SAME TIME bind off 6 sts mid under sleeve (3 sts each side of marker). Now continue back and forth on needle. Continue to bind off for sleeve cap at beg of row each side as follows: 2 sts 3-3-4-4-4-3 times and 1 st 3-4-4-5-8-13 times, then bind off 2 sts each side until piece measures 57-58-58-59-59-60 cm / 22½"-22¾"-22¾"-23¼"-23¼"-23⅝", now bind off 3 sts 1 time each side. Bind off remaining sts. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. |
