Size M: 7, 15, 24, 33, 42 and 51 cm [2¾", 6", 9½", 13", 16½" and 20"] Size L: 7, 14, 22, 30, 38, 46 and 53 cm [2¾", 5½", 8¾", 11¾", 15", 18" and 21"]. When piece measures 39-40-41-42-43-44 cm [15¼"-15¾"-16⅛"-16½"-17"-17¼"] bind off for armhole each side at the beg of every row: 3 sts 1-1-1-1-2-2 times, 2 sts 0-1-2-3-3-5 times and 1 st 1-2-3-4-4-5 times = 62-64-66-68-70-72 sts. When piece measures 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm [22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼"-26"] bind off the middle 24-26-28-30-32-34 sts for neck and dec 1 st on neckline on next row = 18-18-18-18-18-18 sts left on each shoulder. Bind off when piece measures 58-60-62-64-66-68 cm [22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼"-26"-26¾"]. RIGHT FRONT PIECE Cast on 53-57-61-65-69-77 sts (includes 1 edge st at side and 8 front band sts towards mid front) on needle size 4.5 mm [US 7] with 2 threads Alpaca. P 1 row from WS and continue in rib as follows from RS: 8 garter sts (front band), *K2, P2 *, repeat from *-* on the next 44-48-52-56-60-68 sts and finish with 1 edge st. Remember buttonholes – see above. When rib measures 7 cm [2¾"] change to needle size 5 mm [US 8] and continue as follows from the RS: 8 garter sts, P 2 sts, M.1 (= 16 sts), 26-30-34-38-42-50 sts in reverse stockinette st, 1 edge st. Continue in pattern like this. When piece measures 8 cm [3⅛"] dec at side as described for back piece = 48-52-56-60-64-72 sts. When piece measures 24 cm [9½"] inc at side as described for back piece = 52-56-60-64-68-76 sts. When piece measures 39-40-41-42-43-44 cm [15¼"-15¾"-16⅛"-16½"-17"-17¼"] bind off for armhole at side as described for back piece. At the same time when piece measures 50-52-54-55-57-59 cm [19¾"-20½"-21¼"-21⅝"-22½"-23¼"] slip the 26 sts towards mid front on a stitch holder for neck. Bind off to shape the neckline on every other row: 2 sts 2-2-2-2-2-3 times and 1 st 0-1-2-3-4-5 times. When all dec are complete there are 18-18-18-18-18-18 sts left on shoulder. Bind off when piece measures 58-60-62-64-66-68 cm [22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼"-26"-26¾"]. LEFT FRONT PIECE Like right front piece, but mirrored. Work M.2 instead of M.1. SLEEVE Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 42-42-46-46-50-50 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4.5 mm [US 7] with 2 threads Alpaca. P 1 row from WS and continue in rib, K2/P2, with 1 edge st each side. When piece measures 7 cm [2¾"] change to needle size 5 mm [US 8] and continue in reverse stockinette st. When piece measures 10 cm [4"] inc 1 st each side on every 5-4-4-3-2.5-2 cm [2"-1½"-1½"-1⅛"-⅞"-¾"] a total of 8-10-10-12-13-15 times = 58-62-66-70-76-80 sts. When piece measures 50-49-49-48-47-45 cm [19¾"-19¼"-19¼"-19"-18½"-17¾"] – less for the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulder - bind off for sleeve cap each side at the beg of every row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times, 1 st 0-1-2-3-5-7 times, then 2 sts each side until piece measures 56-56-57-57-58-58 cm [22"-22"-22½"-22½"-22¾"-22¾"] , now bind off 3 sts each side 1 time and bind off remaining sts. Sleeve measures approx 57-57-58-58-59-59 cm [22½"-22½"-22¾"-22¾"-23¼"-23¼"]. ASSEMBLY Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams inside 1edge st. Sew on buttons HOOD Pick up 96 to 120 sts round the neck (incl sts on stitch holders. Work reverse stockinette st with 8 garter sts towards mid front and M.1/M.2. Continue until hood measures approx 40 cm [15¾"] – adjust to after a full repeat of M.1/M.2. Work 1 row, K tog all sts in M.1/M.2 2 by 2. Bind off loosely. Fold hood double and sew tog at top from the RS. |
