Decreasing tip (applies to neckline): Make all dec from RS. Dec as follows after 1 garter st: Slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso. Dec as follows before 1 garter st: K2 tog. WAISTCOAT Worked back and forth on needle from mid front. Cast on 66-74-82-90-102-114 sts (includes 1 edge st each side towards mid front) on needle size 9 mm [US 13] with Inka. K 2 rows. Insert 2 Marking Threads (MT) in piece 17-19-21-23-26-29 sts in from each side (back piece = 32-36-40-44-50-56 sts). Remember the knitting gauge! Continue in stockinette st with 1 edge st each side towards mid front in garter st. At the same time inc 1 st – see Increasing tip – each side towards mid front on every other row a total of 3 times = 72-80-88-96-108-120 sts. When piece measures 7 cm [2¾"] inc 1 st on both sides of each MT = 76-84-92-100-112-124 sts (back piece = 34-38-42-46-52-58 sts, front piece = 21-23-25-27-30-33 sts). Now read all of the following section before continuing: Repeat the inc on both sides of each MT when piece measures 14-14-15-16-17-18 cm [5½"-5½"-6"-6¼"-6¾"-7"]. At the same time when piece measures 12-13-15-16-18-19 cm [4¾"-5⅛"-6"-6¼"-7"-7½"] dec to shape the neckline each side – see Decreasing tip – as follows: 1 st on every other row a total of 6-6-7-7-8-8 times, then 1 st on every 4th row 3 times. At the same time when piece measures 19-20-21-22-23-24 cm [7½"-8"-8¼"-8¾"-9"-9½"] bind off 4-6-6-6-6-6 sts each side for armhole (= 2-3-3-3-3-3 sts each side of MT) and now complete each piece separately. Back piece: = 32-34-38-42-48-54 sts. Continue in stockinette st, at the same time bind off to shape the armhole each side on every other row (no dec for size S + M): 2 sts 0-0-0-1-1-2 times and 1 st 0-0-1-1-3-3 times = 32-34-36-36-38-40 sts. When piece measures 34-36-38-40-42-44 cm [13⅜"-14¼"-15"-15¾"-16½"-17¼"] bind off the middle 10-10-12-12-14-14 m for neck = 11-12-12-12-12-13 sts left on each shoulder. Continue in stockinette st until piece measures 37-39-41-43-45-47 cm [14½"-15¼"-16⅛"-17"-17¾"-18½"]. Bind off. Left front piece: Continue and bind off for armhole as described for back piece (no dec for size S + M), at the same time continue dec for neckline. After all dec for armhole and neckline are complete there are 11-12-12-12-12-13 sts left on shoulder. Bind off when piece measures 37-39-41-43-45-47 cm [14½"-15¼"-16⅛"-17"-17¾"-18½"]. Right front piece: Like left front piece, but mirrored. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Crochet border: Crochet round both armholes with crochet hook size 6 mm [J/10] and Inka as follows: *1 sc, 1 ch, skip approx 1 cm [⅜"] *, repeat from *-*. Crochet round bottom edge, along front pieces and round the neck as follows: 1 sc, * 1 ch, skip 1 cm [⅜"], 1 sc, 3 ch, 1 sc in first of these 3 ch, skip 1 cm [⅜"], 1 sc*, repeat from *-*. Sew on buttons on left front piece as follows, measured from bottom edge: Size S and M: 8 and 11 cm [3⅛" and 4⅜"] Size L: 10 and 13 cm [4" and 5⅛" ] Size XL: 10 and 14 cm [4" and 5½"] Size XXL: 12 and 16 cm [4 ¾" and 6 ¼"] Size XXXL: 13 and 17 cm [5⅛" and 6 ¾"].
