Bon tricot!

Greetings, I'm having trouble with your pattern counts. Size XS is correct at 76 stitches total, but S comes up with 154 stitches (not 112), and size M comes up with a total of 188 stitches(not 154.) I am needing to knit a small. Can you please advise the correct cast on and the correct increase?
10.05.2014 - 16:16DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Liebert, in size S you cast on 80 sts then inc 32 sts evenly = 112 sts worked in pattern as follows: *M.2 (4 sts), P2*, repeat from *-* 2 times (=12sts), M.2 (4 sts), *M.3 (14 sts), M.2*, repeat from *-* 2 times (36 sts), M.1 (= mid back = 24 sts), *M.2(4 sts), M.3(14 sts) *, repeat from *-* 2 times (36 sts) = 12+4+36+24+36=112 sts. Happy knitting!

Thought I'd let you know where the error in the pattern is. It's where the split is done. It doesn't indicate that you need to work back and forth on the back piece it only says 'continue' therefore people think you are supposed to continue in the round. It should read: split the work for the forelegs as follows: Put 10-16-22 sts on a thread or a stitch holder (= underneath the stomach), bind off 1 P st, continue to work over the back piece GOING BACK AND FORTH, NOT IN THE ROUND

Ok..seriously frustrated here...has anybody actually finished this pattern without an issue?? I followed instructions for the split and is it me or is there an error in that part of the pattern? I don't understand how the legs of the dog go through..would have loved a diagram of that portion

Are there any known errors in this pattern?? Is it not supposed to be knit on circular needles in the round? I am a seasoned knitter and love this pattern but it has not gone smoothly and I just started...I am on row 11 and it's not adding up...Is anyone else having problems with it?
13.04.2014 - 23:29DROPS Design answered:
Dear Lorri, you start on circular needle but work then separately back piece and front piece (underneath) back and forth for the opening for legs, then join again in the round. Happy knitting!

Knit back and forth over these sts for 6-8-10 cm (the piece measures 18-24-30 cm in total). Put sts on a thread or stitch holder and put sts from the thread or stitch holder underneath the stomach back on needle. Cast on 1 new st each side of these sts = 12-18-24 sts.
